inevitably it’s gonna be all remakes and remasters until like 2028 or whenever they finish the next mainline Zelda
Mar 29, 2025·1 replyImo Zelda will have nothing this year, ww and tp hd porta in 2026 (cross gen) for the 40th anniversary, maybe a warriors game too, ocarina of time full remake a la Metroid prime remastered in 2027 to coincide with the movie, a new 2d zelda in 2028 and 3d zelda in 2029. At least the 3d Zelda being that relatively late in switch 2's life (although it would be at the probable middle part of its lifetime so at the same time not really) could mean they can squeeze a lot more from the hardware

2. Persona 5 Royal
3. Monster Hunter Rise
4. Doom Eternal
5. Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance*Im kinda conflicted with this one cause im afraid if It happens they'll just change it completely to look like the other versions of DSR. The switch version is the most faithful to the original art direction (the bonfires being the prime example), so i'd be good with just a 60fps patch. Hell, as much as it hurts to say, keep the trash audio quality, just dont ruin the art style

The difference is that Zelda has a development team for it, donkey kong doesnt, at least inside Nintendo EPD. Retro had a lot going on behind the scenes that got at last resolved and figured out, so they couldnt work on it either. The push they're giving him recently tho gives me faith we'll get a new dk game this gen
