buying a console in June and expecting within 2 months that it’ll have a substantially different library is crazy
It's definitely not about this lol. They barely announced stuff for the next 12 months and the stuff they announced so far are boring as hell for most people
I don't care about Kirby and thats a f***ing November game

they announced DK like a couple months before it released, short runways is the new marketing strategy so just because the next 12 months of releases haven’t been announced a year in advance doesn’t mean nothing is coming.
This is way better than Microsoft’s strategy of announcing stuff for series x in 2020 that just gets cancelled in 2025
interesting
my girlfriend is the same way
I’ve always wondered why exactly, I wonder if it’s something to do with how the brain processes images, kinda like how some people are more visual learners, others auditory, and some people prefer hands-on to experiences. There’s something about 2D worlds where my gf loses all interest.
Very well could be like that

They announced mario kart and donkey kong just a few months in advance
I don't think they want another prime 4 situation
I think they will wait to announce games until they are finished
once again im glad i didnt play the switch 1 much outside of smash ult because i def wouldnt have bought this system had that not been the case
really hope the performances of these early third party games is just a case of the hardware being new because A LOT of these games have no reason to not be running well on here lmao
also buying this just for 3D mario and 3D zelda seems just like such a f***ing waste lol
i had no interest in dk that much until playing bananza and its already one of my favorite games of the year. im already planning to play the other dk games in the series when i get the chance and am also gonna do the same for zelda cos im not a zelda guy either
tl;dr try new things people

Switch 1 games look like s*** and we've had no indicators there will be updates anytime soon especially with the dev kit situation
Very little third party support announced and what has been announced seemingly runs like s***
Games still getting announced for S1 with no mention of the new console
Its not good enough - if it was anyone else I think there would be much more criticism
lowkey thinking of getting this on switch if the performance is good

30 fps
and it dips if too much is happening on the screen

Tbh i wouldnt expect next gen only games to run at 60fps here. Its still a tablet at the end of the day. The fact they got this running as well as it does day 1 when the hardware has been out for 4 months only is already insane. From should take notes for elden ring

i guess but it gets to a point where its like am i really gonna settle for 30 fps or lower for another gen again
im not expecting 4k 60fps or anything but this system should at least be hitting for like 720p - 900p 60 fps

Well, ideally one would buy third party games on switch because of the portability, otherwise one should choose the other consoles or pc.
And i think devs would prefer going for high resolution over framerate, so they'll always prioritise that, considering also switch 2 supports 4k and 720p would look pretty bad.
For example i'll always play third party action games on pc, but a for a jrpg or an open world i can handle 30fps to have that portability.
Having said all that, i think we're way better off now than we ever were with switch. Witcher 3 and doom were considered miracle ports, now we getting next gen games like cronos, star wars outlaws and next year something like starfield at a much closer visual fidelity to home consoles than switch 1.
Try and look at how split fiction, cyberpunk, Hogwarts legacy and even cronos look compared to the ps5 versions and look at witcher 3 switch 1 vs even Xbox One.
And these next gen games run on a 10w tablet, mindblowing.
Ps5 runs at 20 times that
I’m gonna be brutally honest, y’all are on some s*** if you think Switch 2 so far sucks lmao
I swear y’all expect Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, 3D Mario and Splatoon in the first year launch of Switch 2 or it’s a trash console
Y’all have 8 years of Switch 1 in your head and think that first year was better then Switch 2
Switch 2 is almost 3 months in and is MILES better then Switch 1 in its 3 months… AND ITS NOT CLOSE TO ME

Sony and Microsoft just had worse launches with worse games this generation
The only ps5 exclusive that launched in the launch year was a remake of demon souls, with rift apart coming 8 months later. It also took a year or so for many big games to get updated for ps5, switch 2 got over a dozen instantly
It took Microsoft a year after launch to release halo infinite and that wasn’t on the level of quality of donkey kong bananza, certainly

i do agree theres a lot of value in these games being portable and that devs would likely wanna hit the best resolution possible but the system just does not seem to be strong enough to be hitting those marks lol
even cyberpunk had to make a lot of compromise with the resolution to be able to run decently on the switch 2, i just wanna be able to cop an occasional third party game and not have it be the worst version of the game

street fighter 6 is a really solid port it seems
also hearing apex legends is very solid
silksong has a 120hz mode apparently
will be curious to see the fps

apex actually runs pretty good i tested it earlier today but it is an old game though

yea and its steady too, only dips a bit when youre landing but other than that its a solid update
takes up a s*** ton of space though lol

https://twitter.com/playeressence/status/1957657727553139008Switch 1 had a better year 1 lineup which is why a lot of us think they could be doing more.
Like we don’t have any confirmation of a September exclusive for example.
Switch 2 lineup is fine but if they had a big exclusive every month it would be on par with switch 1 year one.
Switch 2 is the way better console though.
Just really hard to top a Mario Odyssey + Xenoblade Chronicles 2 + Golf Story for me.

botw and Mario kart 8 technically weren’t exclusives
Mario odyssey was 7 months after launch and xenoblade 2 was 9 months after launch.
So we’ll have to wait and see a lot longer to compare the titles 7-9 months into the lifecycle.
