Can someone with an OG Wii help me with my question? Chat GPT doesn't seem to clarify on this

If I want to play a Gamecube game on my OG Wii do I need the Wii remote or motion sensor bar at all to launch the game? Or will it automatically boot up if the disc is already in

Afaik you need to click on the disc channel from the home menu to play both wii and gamecube games, so you need a wiimote.

But someone said if I have an original controller connected into the Wii remote I can control the cursor without using the sensor bar?

typically I've read you are required the Wii mote and bar but you can easily hack it/get homebrew on it to boot directly into the GameCube game which is supposed to be really easy

Maybe it's a setting too?

Idk I see this all the time on those hack/emulation subreddits but can't recall entirely because I have yet to hack my wives Wii still

I don't think you can connect the GameCube controller into a Wii mote unless there's some wild third party item for it

And it's only normal wiis that can even do this iirc. The minis don't work with GC, no controller slots

Just make sure to follow a guide. It shouldn't be difficult to get something simple to follow if you can find the subreddits for it, but I know googling "hack guide 3ds" brings you right to the primary guide for hacking 3ds consoles so it shouldn't be hard to just Google for something

I actually never used this controller, always wanted it but had no clue it connects thru a wiimote and not the GameCube ports on top of the wii lmfao
