Yeah I don't expect Intel to be a competitor when it comes to AMD and Nvidia until maybe 5-10 years from now as they need some time even though they're experts when it comes to CPU's. But them not been a random new company making GPU's will make things easier for them as their GPU's should gain a lot of attention and popularity in the next 5-10 years and who knows maybe even beat AMD and so will the real competition be between Nvidia and Intel. But at the same time so do I hope that AMD will also stay competitive and give us good stuff and with that so will everybody win. But I hope if Sony decides to also jump into the PC market so will they make good stuff and people will show them love and appreciation so they'll continue making amazing products that I am sure that everyone will benefit from

True since Sony will probably release all or most of their games on PC the next 5-10 years or something plus hopefully also releasing their current and future PlayStation games on PC so will also the save files been saved between PS4/PS5 and PC be a good thing plus also hopefully in the future also online games having the ability to both PC and PS4/PS5 players been able to play against each other which hopefully makes Sony release a custom PlayStation console or well PC so that people gaming on their systems/hardware can play against PC players without the PC players always having the advantage because of Mouse/Keyboard, FPS and other things that can easily make them win again PlayStation players. But yeah if this is done right so is it only good for the gamers and people into hardware etc.

Oh yes I think this means more choices for those looking for Nvidia GPU's. I want more news about the RTX 3090 Ti though!

Raptor Lake looks fast, they can finally get near AMD in multicore and they definitely are winning in Gaming.. biggest leap they've had since the 2700k 11 years I think

yeah it will be interesting to see how fast all these new GPUs are in the coming years

bet some games that aren't optimized get better gaming performance once more games are updated for the big / little cores

can't wait for Metor Lake & Zen4 next year this definitely makes it seem like Intel will have something good next year

Wait Meteor Lake? Isn't it Raptor Lake that is coming in 2022? Anyway... Yeah the wait should be worth it as the motherboards released in 2022 aka Z790 should have better support for DDR5 and the 40 series GPU's even though the current Z690 motherboards will also benefit from the 40 series GPU's and at least the Intel 13900K CPU's as well until it'll maybe be a good idea to switch to a new motherboard and what else that will be a good idea to upgrade.

It also sounds like AMD is working on some good CPU's and I hope their upcoming GPU's will be good as well so that Nvidia will keep their good work on their GPU's

Anyway I am still watching those Intel 12900K etc. reviews and man it's making me think about how good the 13900K etc. CPU's will be like

Raptor Lake = 13th Gen so this is Alder Lake

Meteor Lake will be the first revision of the 10nm big/little design, in the past Intel would normally get a good uplift with the first revision so it should be a pretty good CPU and yeah AMD is rumored to be going to 5nm TSMC so that should be a pretty huge leap also

Yeah definitely seems like a good time to upgrade these days but yeah the stuff next year coming next year also if it's not too delayed

Alder Lake=12th
Raptor Lake=13th
Meteor Lake=14th (7nm according to roadmap)

Yep lol... You confused me too haha as I was sure that Raptor Lake was the one coming in 2022 and then so would Meteor Lake be the one after it and should be out in 2023.

The interesting question is how much in nm will their 14th generation CPU be... I think it was 7nm for Meteor Lake (Oh it is I see... Nice) and hopefully 5nm when their 15th generation CPU is out in 2024

yeah it's definitely 7nm they are calling it the L4 process instead now I don't get their naming anymore lol but yeah it's basically 7nm from my understanding

but yeah exciting to see Intel finally get a good node shrink after all these years on 14nm

Yeah Intel has been stock on 14nm for the longest so them going to 10nm and then 7nm is good and hopefully by the time their 15th or 16th generation CPU is out so is it finally at 5nm with also a good amount of cores and threads. But it's impressive to see them still outperform the high-end AMD CPU's in most of the different kind of benchmarks even with the i9 12900K having like what... 8 less threads (24T compared to 32T) I think it was.

Not to mention the packaging of the i9 12900K CPU. I hope it's even better when Raptor Lake is out in 2022. And yes I am at the same time keeping my eye on the AMD stuff so no fanboy stuff here. I want the competition thing to always exist so everyone wins in the end

Btw wow okay this got me excited even more about DDR5...

we should be getting DDR5 vs DDR4 benchmarks now in the next few days definitely going to want to see how all this crazy fast ram perfomance

and nice nice yeah will be exciting to see especially if both put out CPUs at the same time

yeah it's definitely impressive stuff, after the 11th I was getting afraid Intel didn't have it in them anymore after the years of delays

they launched 14nm in 2014 for laptops yeah it's been a minute, back then Intel was leagues ahead of TSMC and Samsung in performance

I'm more interested in the 2022 and beyond benchmarks of DDR5 tbh... I think they'll in 2022 and especially easily beat the DDR4 RAM speeds. I mean even now so is there some impressive benchmarks but more should be coming in 2022 for sure

Oh yes Intel surprised us all in a good day and man I'm glad that stuff will only get better from now on. They gotta keep improving when they know that people expect good stuff for them and do depend on them or else then well so is there always AMD but I believe Intel will only keep getting better from now on and I'm really happy to see them finally putting an impressive CPU

Btw poor 11900K though lol... I see LTT, GN etc. hating on it and well I guess I'm glad that I haven't built a PC so far tbh

yeah I'm definitely more excited for the next year stuff but in the mean time I'm going to be watching those benchmarks in the mean time even though I don't plan to get DDR5 for a while it's always interesting to see how good it is out the gate

Yeah and I hope Intel won't be making this mistake again hopefully as they're slowly starting to be on the right path finally.

Well I gotta build a PC in 2022 or something so whatever will come after I do it in 2022 or well nothing later than 2023 hopefully gotta wait until it's time to build another PC so in 2027-2028 or later depending on how much of a need I'm in for a new PC build. But I should be good for like 3-4 years at least after building that PC.

But yes I'll be checking a lot of stuff out about the new motherboards (Z690), the Intel i9 12900K CPU and the current and upcoming DDR5 RAM sticks for sure

Well if I had the money (Which might happen in the near future hopefully) so will I tbh build a PC every 2 years or even every year as I like to always have the latest and greatest PC parts... But if I've to wait a lot of time until the next PC build so can I always check the articles, tweets, videos etc. about the latest stuff from AMD, Intel and Nvidia of course

I hope by 2022 so will for example the support for Gen. 4 NVME M.2 SSD's be better with the Z790 motherboards as what I've seen from the Z690 motherboards is still not good enough but I guess it will hopefully get better during Q4 2022

Also check this out fam. I see MSI also making some interesting monitors and a TV for console/PC gamers (Well monitors do work on consoles too though). But yeah take a look at this man...

It got things like...

• "The largest color gamut we’ve measured to date".
• 4K @ 120-144 Hz (I think it has both so PC and console players can enjoy gaming at the kind of Hz their console, laptop or PC supports).
• HDR-10 (1000... So yeah some real good HDR there).
• HDMI 2.1
• 55" (The TV is that big... The monitors do come in smaller sizes though).
• Using a controller to control the TV besides the control buttons on the TV/monitor and the remote you do get at least with the TV (I think monitor too).

yeah those look nice screens I'm sure all PCIe 4 (NVME/GPUs) stuff will get much better over the next few years, NVMes already are benchmarking pretty well you just gotta get a good heatsink some of them come with them

And fam it sounds the new Z690 motherboards was like the start of PCIe 5.0 so it sounds like the first PCIe 5.0 related product will come in 2022 which I wonder what exactly it'll be. My guess will be the RTX 40 series GPU's from Nvidia for example and maybe other stuff to follow either during 2022 or 2023 for sure. I guess yeah my waiting will be worth it!

For sure. What's your thoughts on MSI monitors generally speaking? I gotta admit that I do usually prefer ASUS or Acer monitors... But if MSI steps their game up so will I maybe consider giving their stuff a chance besides their motherboards. But man this is an exciting time to build a PC and collect all of the parts you and I have been dreaming of getting

I've never used MSI monitors, I basically have only used LG for my Displays since I started buying monitors in 2010

I know they source their screens from LG and Samsung for the higher end stuff so they should be great Displays

I love MSIs support and motherboards never had a single issue with a repair and it wasn't MSIs fault the motherboard died it was a the PSU so I was pretty happy they gave me a refurbished mobo

PCIe 5 seems cool but the 3090 uses like 1/4 the bandwidth of a PCIe 5 x16 slot so it won't matter for a couple years I imagine, it's definitely interesting their pushing standards like PCIe forward finally felt like we were on 3 forever

Oh yeah? Well for me so will it either be an ASUS or MSI motherboard and some day maybe something else depending on what I do hear and read about motherboards from other brands.

Hmm I hope PCIe 5 will be used enough to justify what I'll be getting in 2022 or 2023... I really don't want to wait until 2024 or later. But it sounds very exciting though... I am looking forward to how things will be in the near future
