mainstream white consumers ruin every genre they touch. even rock became a better genre when they all flocked to hiphop, and it's majority white. the underground scene has been pushing boundaries
if anything, the genre's going to get a new renaissance when the popularity dies down

It’s the #1 genre in the world and yet all of the stars come from the same cities and neighborhoods, rapping about the same surroundings. If anything that shows how hip hop is more of a culture than any other genre.
