@Embezzle if you're gonna watch, one pace is the move for sure but I HIGHLY recommend watching and reading the manga or even just reading the manga

I'm big fan of the anime even with all of its flaws but the source material will always be best + reading is way faster than watching

I’ve been on a huge graphic novel/reading kick in general so I’d love to start reading the manga. are there any compendiums/omnibuses? I recently read the Invincible compendiums within a month and love having all of the volumes in one giant book.

I'm sure there is but I've been reading digitally sadly so I wouldn't be able to tell you

ngl, that's a lot of reading. but i get it. i wanted to watch Dragon Ball Z for the first time earlier this year and tried watching Dragon Ball (like the first series with kid Goku) and couldn't get into but reading the manga it was a whole different vibe.

they really only have bigger volumes of 3 rather than of like 10, so reading chapter to chapter on my phone sounds like the move

We still got a while to go before luffy hits max power. I assume dragon must be OP given how long hes been alive and the fact that hes being saved for the end of the series

Akainu is a toss up, he could be top 5 idk im just guessing but i dont think hes as strong as the top of the gods knights

Blackbeard is my favorite character and im assuming by series end he is top 3

I also wanna say i think atp oda has a very clear idea of how things will play out particularly with power scaling/haki. As a mangaka u might alter your story but generally the end is something u figure out far in advance, as thats the whole point of having a plot

I would maybe agree with garling if he was in his prime. I think he’s closer to the archetype Garp, Whitebeard, and Sengoku. Remnants of an olden time

I hope Oda has some crazy s*** planned for Dragon, Garling, Shanks etc truly cutting loose with their powers/abilities

Part of the mystery with Akainu is that we still haven't seen a Logia awakening and all we have to go off is our general understanding of Paramecia & Zoan awakenings and how Punk Hazard's landscape was after Aokiji/Akainu's battle

Also I need Oda to be on some AoT Season 4/Final season timing (where it ends up taking 3/4 times longer we initially expected)
