he should've aimed completely at kendrick on family matters, push ups covered the drake vs everybody angle enough itself. after euphoria it should've been all kendrick. i think he actually had something with the video & second part with the "good kid maad city van we pop the latch and let the door slide" s***, and that fell in line with his energy on push ups. but it felt like it got sidelined in favor of the me vs everybody angle, which was sorta redundant

I also think the you beat your queen angle was just nonsense to make as his main point, he had so many more angles he could've taken about kendrick's music (which he kinda touched on in taylor made) or place in the game especially given drake's position in it. putting all his eggs in that main basket was just a bad idea, especially when kendrick was coming from multiple angles and covering all bases. in my head, family matters should've been just the second and third beat, all focused on kendrick. I think it would've made meet the grahams look more desperate and overly calculated/a story of adidon retread in the face of what could've been drake's euphoria moment. it would've felt way more equal, with drake having the upper hand before not like us

drake was never going to win against the golden child of hip hop in the public eye. if he had strictly gone at kendrick then everyone would have clowned him for ignoring ross, weeknd and rocky - he has full right to defend himself.

just remember when he denied the daughter right after mtg dropped, everyone said

“what about the pedo accusations???”

then he drops th6 and they change it to “why are you bringing up millie brown?? kendrick never even mentioned her” after the internet milked that narrative for years prior. then they said if he was really not a pedo, he should sue kendrick and when he did.. well you see where we are now

Literally only Drake stans cared about rebuttals and denying allegations, once you start getting defensive in a battle you literally lost and that’s exactly why Kendrick never acknowledged accusations against him besides subtle things like having Whitney in the video

Casuals still have no clue he was battling anyone but Kendrick so wasting breath on everyone else was worthless
