for artists there’s literally always been a blend of what you like and what you want to give people are you dense
Yeah it doesn’t work when you jam in rap, rnb, trap, and dancehall into one big mess for the sake of pleasing everyone
Kaytranada clowned him on twitter so even tho they have the Canada connection that ship has sailed
Drake put Meek on the Summerjam screen and they made up
I'm sure they could work it out
Drake is a Mob Boss-ish figure
It’s wild how many people who never been to toronto listen to drake and don’t know how many people he had killed
Why does every drake album these days feel like he’s trying to please every single segment of his fanbase?
Doesn’t he know he could make an album full of him just breathing on every track and it still would sell like crazy?
Every Drake album since Views has been a mixed bag of treats. Some of his styles should not be on the same album. Drake’s dancehall-inspired and Afro beats-inspired songs need to be on their own album and not put alongside his raps.
Drake’s position in “the game” is solidified, he has nothing left to prove so why not try something new? Niggas act like he could lose fans in this day and age, he’s invincible, he can do what he wants and still be success

Because he wants to be THAT guy for everyone and to do that, he has to wear a lot of hats. We might love a full rap album from him, but some of his casual female fans would be turned off by that.
I love TSU and N 2 Deep, but we gotta admit that both of those songs could have been on any Drake project since 2013 (at least).
Damn near every song sounds like another Drake album, and not like a progression of any of those sounds, they just straight up sound like they would fit on that album

Champagne Poetry, Way 2 Sexy, and N 2 Deep are the only ones that sound like an actual evolution of Drake’s sound instead of just rehashing his previous albums, while IMY2 just sounds like a Man on the Moon III leftover and Knife Talk sounds like a Savage Mode II leftover
13 songs with Kaytranada beats and a Charli XCX feature
He needs to invite Danny Brown, Earl Sweatshirt and Rico Nasty to the studio too

It’s a “playlist”
Since IYRTITL I have always wanted another rap-focused project from Drake.
But on CLB his rapping is so low-energy and unexciting. I may have to finally accept that Drake is never going to give me what I’m looking for.
Switch up the formula. Try something new. New topic. New producers. NEW SOMETHING. He’s been releasing the same type of album for 2016

I think Knife Talk actually sounds like a Savage Mode 2 leftover the way IMY2 sounds like it could’ve been on MOTM3.

At least on Views and More Life it made more sense for those island sounds to be mixed in on those particular projects. There is absolutely NO reasonable explanation for Fountains being on CLB

You’re 100% right
