I don’t support Chris Brown, but that is a nasty tweet to have up as a corporation about a working musician. SCREAMS to where we are right now in music and these entities putting in 100% effort to gatekeep hiphop/R&B on the internet via writers/podcasters
Singling her out is crazy weird, her music ain't even s***ty
She makes bad music
meg nowhere near as bad as cb but interesting that you singled her out
The music sucks, which is why the people who support her as a celeb don't even listen to it
People listen to music they like

4M daily streams btw, more than 99% of artists on the planet
Nah she don't
And that's your opinion but the streams speak for themselves, esp for someone with as much publicity and label push as her

Numbers don't equal quality

Less than Demi Lovato
Unfortunately they do have relevance
They're a measure of popularity, not quality

If 1 million people enjoy a song and listen to it every day, then that song has 1 million streams
If 100,000 people enjoy a song and listen to it every day, then that song has 100K streams
Does that mean that the song with 1 million streams is inherently better than the song with 100K streams?
Numbers measure how popular something is, not how good or bad something is
This album isn't a ''hit-chasing album'' lmao, quite the opposite. The only an attempt at that was that ''fallin'' song but even then, no promo behind it or anything, it was just a different lane from him. And that's completely fine considering many ppl say ''he always make the same music''. You can never win with haters.
The ''review'' is a lazy and lame excuse to hate on him but they'll fail like they always do. He had one of the most successful stadium tours ever last year, won a grammy for his last album and he is still one of the best selling artists.
That's not to say the album is a masterpiece or that it deserves crazy critical acclaim - no, but's still something that most of us fans love from him. Should be a bit shorter, but otherwise I don't have much to complain about
Should’ve hit em with that throwback monkey pissing (shitting? Idr) GIF or whatever on the Jet review. Damn PF fell off

Maybe his music is just ass
They not gonna say it because he white but Jack Harlow lowkey bodied most of these R&B niggas with that last album
replace this with fat and Don Toliver and you would’ve had one
Pitchfork constantly do this, their reviews are terrible. They come up with whatever score they feel they can give the artist rather than the project itself and get Alphonse to write whatever 11th grade level English class bullshit he wants
They not gonna say it because he white but Jack Harlow lowkey bodied most of these R&B niggas with that last album
Niggas just losing their minds itt huh
The problem with Pitchfork isn't this article
It's that they won't do this for every artist that actually puts out s***ty music, like Meg Thee Stallion
