Gameplay feels very different, battling isn’t turn based, instead you’re walking around and commanding your pokemon whose moves each have individual cooldowns. Cooldowns are short so you’re often spamming different moves and battles feel quick and more energetic tbh

Instead of researching the focus is battling and you basically face a bunch of trainers and then at the end you face a tough trainer, like a gym battle almost, in order to get promoted to the next rank

Catching Pokémon works the same as legends but you can battle and defeat pokemon and then get a chance to catch after, I think that’s new

Would you say the new battle system is fun?

Yeah so far, it’s a fresh take, curious if it’ll get stale by the end. Also, I haven’t tried online battles yet but I’m excited for that as well. You can dodge attacks and the trainer can get hit, so it could be chaotic as hell lmao

but this was 2016 lol, the point is that the series always looked like this. Yeah compared to ghost of Yotei it’s not the top of the line but at least it’s better than it was

not really the point though, when people talk about the graphics its more that its still a low bar compared to other nintendo exclusives. obviously with the money this ip makes the art style, graphics, etc could be phenomenal, but that won't happen as we all know

Even the best looking Nintendo exclusives on switch are held back by the hardware

Pokémon, Zelda, AC, Mario, they will all start looking way better when games come out that aren’t designed for switch 1

It will never happen. Check how many copies get sold. Capitalism at its finest. It’s the same conversation of why I’m buying a box of cards for 2k

They are but Zelda look better than this does

Now I’m no programmer maybe spawning Pokémon is more taxing on performance than an open world like Zelda but Pokémon has never overachieved on that area

    How is the city?

it’s big, filled with side missions and little nooks and crannies for you to explore. In typical pokemon fashion it’s a bit of fun to just walk around and talk to npcs and find items and just f*** around

I heard there’s an underground too, excited to see that

Visually, the city doesn’t look amazing, but indoor areas look great. Performance is smooth 60fps across the board.
