40 was asked to produce a posthumous aaliyah album, drake asked to be a part of it. they announced it and released a single. there was confusion on what exactly drakes involvement was. turns out it didn't have the complete blessings from close family and friends to make it and a lot of people saw it as part of drake's weird obsession with aaliyah at the time so they left it.
