The song is about dancing on the grave of the person you beat in a rap battle, simple as that

Its mudslinging on the opponent, not some grand statement on what type man you are. That s*** so corny man.

I'm not talking about race at all, I'm a white dude and not having that conversation.

Kendrick’s whole stance in each song after Like That was attacking Drake’s character…did you not hear every song? He didn’t even say anything about his race until the end of NLU and was talking culture vulture s*** we all have or “you lack as a dad and leader” type s***

He put it in “😏” type way he should’ve really stamped it even Kendrick fans i know irl were saying he should’ve just said how he felt and what he really meant but it’s kind of a dead topic and in the past and doesn’t change that Kendrick in fact won the biggest beef of all time so whatever

Go enlighten me, what is it really about

There’s not really anything better written than Gloria, reincarnated, man at the garden, HP6, on there and I like iceman

Do you mean writing in the literal sense? Or writing as in songwriting?

Because if you mean songwriting then there’s a whole lot that’s better than any of those

Both, I think as far as songwriting goes there’s nothing on here that beats Luther on iceman

"NLU was about being a man and lacking in character"

they spent two years telling us that you are a bad person if you like drake and that kendrick was the peak of moral righteousness

That white guilt line got some people fried . Glitching . Which makes it funnier to me because many know exactly what it is but are acting obtuse . “ all rappers have white fans “ when that’s not what he said and we know he has white fans cause he is mixed . We know ye had white fans because he blends genres and opened for u2 .

Really drake should have expounded on what he was getting at but if he did then it would become a full diss song essentially and I like many wanted him to keep it light on an entire diss song .

It’s funny that even someone like Fantano tried to play the gotcha game like “hmmmm so why do white people listen to Drake then hmmmm”

Which was the fastest retort he could come up with when presented with the line in real time

Just shows how little thought goes into it and how little people understand what’s being said. And also shows how close it hits to home

i love being in the middle and watching both sides bash on lyrics and themes in the albums

Drake spend 3 entire albums in a monotone delivery phase religiously repeating lyrics and refrains over and over again and spent 1 of those albums entirely to make rebuttals for a 2 year old beef after kicking the entire thing off by telling Kendrick to drop and having his fanbase poke fun at Kendrick for not having anything to say, then proceeds to take 2 years to even cook up something HALF worth saying and still f***ed it up

at same exact time, GNX had songs like peekaboo and that awful GNX posse cut, with a s*** ton of refrains and repeated garbled slop lyrics too. Both can be true and still be fun and enjoyable listens.

GNX was fire when it dropped
ICEMAN and these other 2 albums are fire right now, if you just shut the f*** up and enjoy the music for what it is.

I dont think Drake released these 3 albums for anything other than upping his value to the label (and of course fulfilling contractual obligations) and making music for his fans, and that is exactly what his focus shouldve been. He has already been the biggest artist in the world, the only people you have to impress now is yourself and your fans.

thats it, its really that f***in simple man. If you start jumping through hoops or try to create scenarios or go into it with a mindstate that youre not gonna like it, guess what? you aint gon like it

Yup another example of purposely misconstruing his lyrics lol. People knew exactly what he was saying and who he was saying it about. That bar is an example of hit dogs will holler
