• plot twist, burning bridges second half, Janice, whisper my man, national treasure first half, little birdie etc is better hip hop music than what FATD had to offer hip hop wise

• his voice and mixing here is much better than $$$, good sign. When a rapper falls off first thing to go is voice and flow. Drake shows he is still possesses the capability. His voice and flow havent regressed too much 🙏

• 40 involvement is a good sign

CONS:

• boi1da is only involved in one song, this is criminal. Boi1da is drakes greatest rap producer, national treasures the only song he is involved with.

• unnecessary beat switches ruining momentum of great songs (I wasn’t surprised by this all hardcore fans knew this would happen. Atleast plot twist doesnt have a switch)

• make them songs are boring. I miss time stamp records that had energy like 4pm and 5 am. Conductor Williams type s*** needs to go im sorry guys this Griselda s*** needs to die out. Low energy and not even real boom bap. Good Boom bap is energetic production wise, Griselda is soy bap for white kids who get scammed into buying over priced vinyls of sleepy music lol i don’t mind make them cry tho. Thats maneesh

They mostly just take up space for me.

Only make them cry is foreground music the rest are background music at best

Drakes rapping is best when he has to focus on flow more than lyrics

When he has too much space on the beat he’ll start getting lazy pen wise

The best rapping on this album is probably plot twist, janice, whisper my name first half or national treasures first half. All songs where he has to focus on flow and bounce

Make Them Cry is such a beautiful song. It really may be his best intro ever. Tuscan Leather is godly but there is something about the vulnerability on here that just blows me away every time. That first listen on the stream with the B roll of Toronto will be etched with me forever

Are a bit repetitive and monotonous.
Needed more energy production wise and vocally

30 for 30 freestyle clears all 3 of them. And honestly is insane foreshadowing

I can see that. The delivery is kind of repetitive but I do think the instrumentals are nice and the lyrics actually have some substance to them so they’re better than just the standard random bragging or shots that were used to. I said it awhile back but this album solidified that the “boom bap” Drake x Conductor album would be a hard sell to me at this point. Drake shines wayyyyy more on varied production with focusing on flows and pockets on here than dense lyricism talking type songs

I loved how all the tracks flowed together in Ep.4 which made for a great listening experience

Boi1da got enough shine off the beef and all the great records he’s done over the years. I think it was right for Drake to switch up his rap production, and it worked out here for the best. His new production team was super locked in

I’m biased to 4PM because I think it’s his best rap performance ever but I’m going to live with these for a bit longer and see where I properly rate them. I know first listen of Firm Friends I was like meh but now it’s grown on me a lot after getting to actually see the lyrics and see the pictures he’s painting
