Feel like it's kind of arbitrary though, like at what point does a thread become 'dead' and I get banned for reviving it?

If that's the actual CONOPS and a rule that needs to be abided by then there should be a written, documented guideline with a specific timeframe OR threads should just be auto-locked after a certain period of inactivity like how some other forums do it. Leaving it open and then banning someone for posting is grimy

There's an argument that the subject matter of old threads can become relevant again after new developments, quotes, actions, etc. and warrant being bumped

2 months is the cutoff point i stick by, and nobody gets banned for that. some people get muted, but that’s usually if they do it often (davey does this like 5x a week)

i’ve seen as much as 6 years necrobumped, it happens a lot & it’s very annoying to see “album turns 14” from 2020 bumped in 2026 for 20th anniversary. just make a new thread. why even celebrate 14 in the first place too?? not even a major number.
