Did anyone rip the stream? Would love to have that in my files.

It’s live on drakes page again!

Edit: you might have to just follow the link to YouTube. The embed on here isn’t working.

TC is aging really well, NWTS not as much. When I go back to listen to certain tracks on NWTS, it makes me want to listen to Drake's more recent music.

TC feels like a good time capsule on the other hand.

Its the exact opposite for me. Actually I got a good amount of skips on TC.

I guess the downside of dropping so many songs at once is that some classics like Cheetah Print or Hoe Phase are being overlooked by the general public

    What Skips

I think the whole section from Take Care to Make Me Proud is kinda weak. I don’t wanna go as far to say they are all skips but im not really a big fan besides Underground Kings

Also not a big fan of HYFR. Average Wayne collab to me

    I'm shocked to hear that.

But I just flipped through NWTS and it sounds a bit fresher than I remember. But songs like Worst Behavior, Started from the Bottom, All Me just don't grab me as much. And you can tell Hold on We're Going Home is a Majid Jordan song he jumped on, doesn't fully fit on the album.

It's crazy how much more melodic based Drake used to be, people say he raps less now but feels like he actually raps more now.

The lack of huge beat switches feels amazing though, Drake needs to really drop his frequency of beat switches.

if you're judging song for song maybe (still no). how he executed the gkmc concept was masterful and incomparable imo. especially coupled with the high quality songs. gkmc is basically a perfect album

I listened to S80 after GKMC. Even when I first heard it, it didn’t grab me right away. And granted I hate every Kendrick album the first time I hear it but S80 is perfect to me. Outside of No Makeup S80 and TPAB are my top 2 Kendrick projects. GKMC is towards the bottom for me personally

Great thing about classics are that they are timeless

  • Not even ranking this album still right now but I will say this is like the IYRT of the 2020’s

it reminds me of that era, the energy, concise hard hitting rap songs all over, this album has some bounce and fun sprinkled in.

and no jungle’ on this , but give me the entire first half of burning bridges man.

Nah its a respectable take. Worst Behavior is my least favorite NWTS song too.

Tbh my first Drake album was NWTS. I didn’t live through the TC era which is why see the album more detached and less nostalgic than most. Still a great album and still in my top 5

I will say 1 thing idk how I’m going to go back to FATD again when the Iceman hype wears off. His rapping on Iceman is so ahead of the s*** he was saying on FATD, I may never be able to listen again also curious how Habibti measures up against SSS4U

Exactly. Even as someone very critical of current Kendrick, TPAB and GKMC is probably some of the greatest back to back albums a musician will ever do. But after he moved to DAMN and Mr. Morale, he took a step down. You could tell he was in an artistic funk and forcing it a bit. Too much pressure to follow them up while building his fanbase.

Section.80 over GKMC was not an unheard of opinion back then though because some people just wanted to be different and let people know they knew him before he became more popular.

Ngl I love Damn and it’s his best album to me, TPAB never really clicked.
