Putin says Russia does not intend to occupy Ukrainian territory

In his address to the Russian nation just now, Reuters reports the Russian President said his troops would not invade Ukrainian territory.

Bear in mind, President Putin has recognised the separatist-held breakaway regions in in the east of Ukraine as independent. Ukrainian forces still hold some control in parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. It's not clear whether Mr Putin considers those areas Ukrainian territory.
