Managed to finish 9-42 so far. Hopefully I can get the rest done tomorrow. I genuinely have no idea how they're gonna top this canto.

I thought she was just some nerd who made weapons then I found out she is strong as f\*\*\* and could have solo'd the three Sinners I brought in the Matthias fight

Yeah I pretty much let her and Vespa solo Matthias and focused on Kira. I knew she was strong from reading DD but I didn't think she was THAT strong lmao. She doesn't make weapons, instead she is actually a huge aficionado and collector of Workshop tools/weapons kinda like Don is with Fixers. She's cool as s\*\*\*.

I have been waiting for Sinclairs awakening since I first started playing this game holy f\*\*\*. Also his character implies that there's going to be a 2nd Smoke War and Sinclair is basically a legend at that point

EDIT: Yeah just finished 9-43 and that might be one of the best nodes in the game, still can't believe that happened

9-43 i was smiling the entire time after that cut scene where ish and faust dual ego'd to give sinclair an opening that entire node was the hypest s\*\*\* ever

Finally done act 3. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I will become a millionaire and fund a Canto 9 movie.

Just beat Lei Heng and it was actually very easy once I decided to read the skills lol. Also did not realize I was basically like one attack from winning on each of my attempts since you just needed to get him to like 900 HP

Finally finished Canto 9. That was incredible.

There were a lot of abnormality battles in the first half of the Canto which I wasn't really a fan of but part 3 more than made up for it with insane fights and also with having the Sinners split up. Being able to see the Distortion Detective crew fight alongside the Sinners put a smile on my face

I loved the fight mechanics; 9-45 was especially a good showcase of this. The way Gregor had the new Excise coins and you had to ensure that Vergilius' unbreakable coins didn't clash with specific skills since Gregor gets powered up by the amount of unbreakable coins he was clashing with was really cool

A lot of insane things I need to process in the story such as Ryoshu being raised as a living concept incinerator. Also, I feel like Rien's character is probably one of the best they have ever written. There are a lot of layers to his unhinged and twisted faithfulness to the Prescripts that basically led him to sacrifice his wife and daughter (that the Prescript also forced unto him), which further complicates his relationship with Ryoshu. He genuinely cares for her in his own twisted way but he is also aware that forming that bond would result in him losing his family again (a common motif in this Canto)

I loved the characterisation they added to the Nursefathers in the passives. Rien's was ESPECIALLY good. The way that during the 2nd phase of the fight he gains the Prescript passive that alludes that he is starting to disobey the Prescript's was kino.

Last thing about Rien but the final cutscene where he is reminiscing about being asked about why the waves are always crying is perfect. Eventually, anything given by the Prescript will always be taken away. He tries to justify this by saying that the waves have no reason to be sad since it was the will of the Prescript that allowed the sandcastle to be built and kid Ryoshu replying with if the waves will ever be happy giving him a little bit of pause was so f\*\*\*ing good. It's a really beautiful allegory that also gives context to why he never finished a book he ever started with Ryoshu

I'll have to start up Library of Ruina at some point in the near future. Last time, I got confused as f*** and just closed out Need more PM greatness while waiting for Canto 10 lmao.

Still one of my favourite games ever. Since you have played Limbus to Canto 9 I think Ruina might be more approachable now. it’s a lot like Limbus in that there’s a huge emphasis on reading the passives of the enemy, that being said, they are doing a lot more insane s*** on the passives since its a single player game. It’s really engaging once you get into it
