This man was releasing music when he was a kid with his siblings gospel group, before Elvis, James Brown and Chuck Berry even came along
truly an og
Always been a massive fan, a major pioneer of my favourite drum machine
Hell y'all saw me post Whole New Thing in that drums thread yesterday
The questlove documentary was quite good and I would recommend fans watch it, it paints the picture of the group in a slightly different light (e.g. giving better context to how they started leaving shows early)
It was nice to learn what triggered their switched from the writing on Whole New Thing to the more easily digestible (songs about dancing/'feelings')
In the 2010s he was still believed living in an RV but the doc shows that in recent years things had gotten better and he had properly reconnected with his family and was with them, thus things ended well
He made magic happened in a short time, we've all heard the story of how Miles Davis made his band listen to In Time on repeat

You caught me crying... today
