The second half when he is living as a slave at his fathers brothers farm is way to long
Imo it could’ve gone on longer. Would’ve loved to see him torment Fjolnir some more.

Feel like this woulda made a better series
Everything aspect felt a bit under developed for me
Just got out. This will probably be in my top films of the year but it’s very predictable and cliche which aren’t always bad things if pulled off right. Which I think this did.

yup, tropes aren't bad
Yeah this one is special. Eggers has such an unique style that had to grow on me with Lighthouse but it fully worked / clicked here for me. Filmmaking at its best
Another director could've made this film but it's Eggers sauce that made it incredible and unique
When y'all realize that this is Viking Hamlet >>>>>>>>>
I feel like majority of movies have traces of Shakespeare in some fashion
wasn't expecting da twist
Pain.

lowkey
Damn really?!
yeah i dunno 🤷♀️ guess i had the wrong expectations for this movie kinda just felt like one of those video game adaptations or something . im not even a big gore/horror guy or anything just felt kinda regular the action scenes were cool tho
Damn was not rocking w this /: was looking forward to it too
Same thing, like I thought it was okay just didnt blow me away or anything
Same thing, like I thought it was okay just didnt blow me away or anything
Thought I’d come away with something way more substantive than “damn that way pretty bad ass”
Oh well, guess that’s on me. Cool for what it is I just thought Eggers was gonna be one of them ones

Well I mean it's based on the myth that became arguably the most well known story on Earth so
Idk what niggas be wanting man, this s*** was a Scandinavian myth brought to life. There were frames and shots in here that felt like a painting. Those valkyrie scenes? The final fight between Amleth and Fjolnir by the volcano???
it never felt like a single line of dialogue was wasted here man. Skarsgard was f***in beastly here and the way he switched between speaking in that low, almost demonic growl and being able to switch into that monstrous roar at the drop of a dime was f***in insane, I was fully immersed every time he spoke. This nigga commanded the screen.
Not to mention his amazing chemistry with Anya Taylor Joy. She was the perfect contrast with her cerebral and mystic persona complimenting his wolflike and feral demeanor.
And then you got Bjork who's role was haunting as f*** and left an impression even if it was essentially a glorified cameo.
I went in not knowing what to expect and i loved it, I just judged this on it's own merit. Between this and the weird nitpicks I've seen directed at Everything Everywhere All At Once, I think folks aren't letting the art sit with them or something man.
Because Eggers really did his homework here.
