A bit of time has passed so maybe things can be spoken about abit more...
& I'm not saying it's right
A part of the reason they had fell out in the past seems to have been linked to D's alcoholism & substance abuse & that the alcohol & seemingly destructive activity would could lead to his death
Questlove's existence has been super straight and narrow ('respectability') so maybe he didn't quite understand the vices and how they are linked to mental toil/internal struggle
(Although iirc Questlove has said he's one of only a few people on his block that has lived a long life. But he lived a sheltered upbringing as a person raised in a strict church, his dad(?) even banned from watching non-musical TV shows because of a prank he pulled on his mom i believe)
Questlove has said on many occasions that he thought it would lead to D's passing
& he was sad D wouldn't share his gift with th world as Quest really knew D was the really the GOAT before people acknowledged it, same as he knew Dilla was the GOAT earlyUnfortunately D did pass away from something heavily linked to alcohol abuse
