Rewatch Godfather before you say this
im just basing on my first watch which i foundmore enjoyable yk ? all three are goat movies imo, but i just enjoyed the other 2 more
also pesci in this
not like his usual roles in gangster movies but soo good
third act jus made me sad seeing him like dat and frank explaining the 'chuch'
also what is really special ab this is how the hoffa murder scene wasnt drawn out as you would lowkey expect yk? like oh no frank how could u kill me uWu the whole time u think like frank loves this mf so much how will he jus kill him and then he just.. shoots him and is done with it
it was like the opposite of goodfellas in a way bc watchign goodfellas a big part of it makes the gangster life seems cool but this movie was like nah u gon die alone and depressed with none loving you

yea i feel u, i rewatched goodfellas like 5 times or some s*** so i might have to rewatch this more too
but the thing is i WANTED to rewatch goodfellas but with godfather i dont really have that
also the part in the beginning where the frank wanted to blow up the washing thing and the dude says like do you know who has a part in the company? frank asks who the dude answers 'i do' frank jus replying WHO???

Theatre was dying at that scene

Yeah, hit way too close to home wasn't expecting that from this film. Too real, as death don't come as you will

exactly, it just looked like another murder yk? like all the others one you see where frank just walks and shoots and walks away
Also read the door being left half open may be Scorsese reminding us to reflect on our choices because our future have yet to be written. It’s a glimmer of hope for us to know that and for frank, the door being open gives him some hope that his family might one day come through.
Love how simple yet ambiguous the ending is. Truly a masterpiece!

the pan on his body for a few seconds after frank left the house just left me stumped tbh..
thought Chuckee was gonna get it too

Been wanting them to drop some of that bts
on it tonight thank you boss

lmao there were so many little moments that left me stumped first watch. Like i was wondering how Chuck got away with that to wondering if he was in on it. Same s*** with De Niro’s family life since he cheated on his wife and then you just never really see any resolution come out of it beyond frank just casually bringing up one line about the living situation.
Feels good seeing all the sopranos og’s.
I would still f*** thee dog s*** out of Charmaine’s old ass.
this is more enjoyable than godfather imo
imo gangster movies rn is
goodfellas > irishman > godfather
tbh..
Out lmfao
the watermelon scene was pretty funny...in general movie was a lot funnier than I expected it to be while also still being pretty sad and pathetic in some ways towards the end...like Scorsese really shined a light on just how petty and meaningless a lot of these mob hits and whatnot really were only for them to all just end up as old f***s
