You ever had a good friend then found out they were on some creepy s*** or sumn along those lines? It's really conflicting & doesn't usually happen overnight, probably gave him the benefit of the doubt at first then realized he had to distance himself, at least professionally.

It's possible he didn't believe it, it's not that strange.
