I don’t think that comparison works with this show honestly. And i think Robot is one of the greatest ever comfortably
Mr Robots audience and awards peaked S1 and dwindled notably as the series went on. S2 was divisive in a way that resulted in permanent drop offs. I enjoyed it and the critical acclaim for the show was great the whole series but this was a damaging type of divisive. The audience that started didn’t finish the show and the ones that stayed truly loved it, but weren’t a massive grouping
Severance gained a large audience due to its S2, solidified itself as a flagship for Apple and now is just getting started with acclaim that will manifest throughout the year in awards and continued binge watching. The critiques vs love is far more balanced and even if you disliked the session I guarantee everyone shows up day 1 of S3. This is more like a “fun” divisive lol
S*** I just mean quality wise, not audience or awards!

Only reason divisive is the word being used is cuz the shows hardcore stans have a meltdown at even the slightest criticisms lmao they just want everyone in here posting "PEAK TV!!" over and over echo chamber style
Gotta say, I absolutely love Tillman and he deserves all of the awards, he’s an amazing actor and done an amazing job with Milchick
But it’s weird to me that so many people seem to like the character Milchick. Dude is a total shill for a company that treats him like s*** and does not value him at every turn and he gives them everything he has

Lmao fr. Can’t even say you were a little disappointed with the season overall without being called a mindless viewer.
It’s definitely baffling to me seeing people call Season 2 on par with Season 1, or that the finales were on the same level.
Season 2’s finale is a bit more enjoyable on a rewatch, but there’s still this weighing feeling of being unsatisfied when you think about the fact that it took them an entire season to get to where they got to.
Saw someone say they watched the finale with someone who only saw Season 1 and the person wasn’t confused at all as to what was happening, that should sum up just how much they dragged out the Gemma storyline for absolutely no reason.
I’m seeing people call this finale the greatest episode of television ever like come on man lmao
I’m tired of seeing s*** about this online everywhere. I stopped watching the first season a few ep in cuz it was boring af but I’m thinking of giving it another chance

it’s a great show and in my opinion it more than deserves the hype, sometimes shows may just not click for you, don’t force it, but i hope you try it again and enjoy it!

This tells you all you need to know about this season
Cobel coulda just started helping mark when he cornered her at her car and skipped that boring ass cobel goes home episode altogether
Seriously thry re just a marching band booked for an hour or so wtf do thry care about lumon employees lmao
Milchick introduces them as Lumon's Choreography and Merriment Department. He refers back to it a few times in the episode, so idk if you missed it or just joking.

She still thought she had a future at Lumon at that point

its worth it imo. its a captivating, creative idea that has builds its own lore, language and keeps the mystery going. Also some of the cast are pretty much classic TV characters at this point and are constantly challenged to portray multiple people.
There's not really much else like it airing right now which is why people are clinging to it. For some it will legitimately be one of their favorite shows ever, others may just like it and some will probably hate it, but i don't think anyone regrets watching.
Well I hoped this show would be in the upper echelon amongst Breaking Bad, Sopranos, and The Wire. Not Lost lol. But I'm speaking on Severance having the same flaw that Lost had in it's later seasons, not them being direct comparisons as shows
Lost is the second best show among the 4 you mentioned.

Nah I def missed that I figured they were contracted out cuz wtf lumon gonna do with a marching band that would justify having them on payroll full time

I saw another post that said the finale seemed more concerned with creating memes and “moments” rather than a tightly written narrative as well. I could agree with that as well, feels like they were really playing into the social media fanbase with the last episode more than any other time
Cobel coulda just started helping mark when he cornered her at her car and skipped that boring ass cobel goes home episode altogether
i think maybe the essentials of the episode coulda been condensed and merged into a previous one but you're skipping pretty big reasons why she left to do that.
She felt threatened by Helena after she realized they wouldn't rehire her and then went home for sensitive documents Lumon doesn't know exists as future leverage
Some of you don’t deserve to own things with screens.
Why is this the response to critiques about this show now? I swear people were not like this during Season 1’s run

Word I figured you did, I'm like why are folks replying to you but not mentioning that lol. Lumon got every damn thing it seems.

Cus they know it isn’t as perfect as it’s made out to be so any criticism needs to be attacked ferociously. Seeing similar things happen in music.

it goes both ways for sure.
some people are clearly being deliberately obtuse in regards to certain things, or they are just straight up not paying attention to certain things, not remembering them properly, etc.
which prompts someone else who DOES notice these things to dismiss the person as if they arent viewing the show "the right way"
i love this show, its easily in my top shows of all time already, but im not going to sit in here and act like theres no issues with the show or that someone who doesnt enjoy it as much as me isnt watching it "correctly."

Because “You can understand the finale without watching any of season 2” is a stupid criticism.
Because complaining about a lack of advancement in the plot (when we’ve gotten tons of it) is f***ing stupid.
There are real, legitimate problems with this season. They completely drop the ball with Irving after episode 6, Dylan’s arc makes no f***ing sense after like the first meeting with Gretchen, I don’t particularly like the p****footing that they’re doing with Milchick… a lot to complain about!
But people are instead focusing in on stupid things to complain about and I don’t like it!

Yeah even with its flaws it’s still a top tier show, but I’m seeing sentiments like “go watch a Marvel movie then” for people who have legit criticisms and issues with the second Season and that just feels counterproductive
