idk if that was always the case but whatever it is seems so important that the rest of the team doesn’t even matter at all anymore. like whatever mdr usually does seems like anyone could do it. their roles are replaceable. but there’s apparently something unique about mark’s work - important enough that the execs of such a huge company are spending so much time on this s\*\*\* when they have hundreds of severed mdr offices across the world

so basically all of MDR is based all around Mark and Gemma. All the others around him are just pawns for him to do what needs to be done. That finally explains why they don't just fire them all and just bring a whole lot of different people

I saw a theory about it being the experimentation to bring someone back to life. Data refinement work is about refining a human's personality for resurrection. Their goal as a company might be to bring Kier back to life which would also explain the weird baby Keir in the intro
