@HeyFella and you thought I was bad
Yeah I don’t agree with this at all so it’s whatever. Not gonna debate it. Not worth it.
Intolerance praise isn't kosher?
That's fine but Fidelio doesn't think Birth had anything to do with the Klans resurgence

You know, I love Hitchcock but the acting isn’t usually what I’m drawn to w his films. Perhaps I don’t value charm/charisma as much as other qualities, which is the main thing I associate w his most famous performances (aside from Norman Bates).
You also have to take into consideration that he himself wasn’t as concerned with performance as he referred to actors as cattle. He’s certainly more interested in showing rather than than telling. I remember him criticizing Truffaut for doing the latter in the conversation they had.
depends
it's worth a watch for sure because its welles
there are issues with it like it feeling a bit rushed, king duncan is killed off screen if I recall correctly? that's a blunder if so
the f***ing voice-overs for the monologues is the biggest problem with the film
it's worth a watch if you got the time to spare, if I had to vote cahiers du cinéma style with that 0-4 star system, it'd get 1 star which is basically "watch if you can bother"

Just seems like film class 101, p dull with no personality.. Other than Get Out being on the list

What do u value then? Those two things are a big part of acting
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is great, but not better than the films it's trying to replicate
Remember when Blue is the Warmest Color was that film

Very reductive response to what I said about it

Hard to argue with that, Andrei Rublev would be #1 on my list, Nosferatu doesn't do anything for me really but you can tell it left a huge impact on him

Noé's daily to-do list includes 2001

I know I know I'm always reducing things but that the gist I got from what you said. I don't think either of us have done enough personal research on the topic to really say.
