yea no this is a public middle school. 7th grade. idk the nuance of it but if i can speak very frankly were like one of maybe 3 white families in a very primarily black and brown district, was a big problem growing up personally but i have much thicker skin than he does so im just worried about s*** like this getting into his head.
i made it out okay but i know not everyone is built like that
As a black man sorry bruh Ima have to say he better learn to tough it out or just transfer to a different school
My empathy admittedly goes out the window when it comes to white folks feeling anything by words of black folks.
History/living in a racist county during a crucial part of my childhood justifies said lack of empathy. Sorry i’m not sorry.
But also I’m fully putting my unborn kids into all black schools tho

at least you’re honest.
this is internalized misandry. telling men to cry more in public or "be more vulnerable" or something to that effect wouldnt solve anything because its not treating men like men on their own terms but rather like deficient women this happens a lot in schools btw
Whoa lol. No one is telling men to cry more in public. No one should cry in public. I think that's what this discussion gets wrong. Women just get leeway because they're "sensitive," but people complain about women going hysteric after the fact.
Men should be able to cry in the privacy of their home without feeling guilty. They should be able to be vulnerable with their partner (with however comfortable they are).

i think part of the problem is that people think that vulnerability is feminine and not just human

u think my brother would get a better experience growing up if he had more white people around him at school ?
my little brother came home real upset the other day because one of the girls in his class said he looked like an uncooked piece of chicken and that he smells like wet dog
s***s funny but at the same time i gotta tell him to just tough it out and that its not that serious ?
Little bro should wash a bit better to make sure there is no ammo, allow to be mad and move on from the insults, then grow some thick skin. I got made fun in middle school too as the older brother, so I get it.
Best post of the thread.
Cause irl s*** is not this black and white. Also a looooot of fellas itt would benefit from joining a men’s circle.
Appreciate it brother. You rock.
How is there more threats to their safety when 80% of murder victims are men? Most violent crime is directed towards men. Yes it is mostly other men committing these acts. Women are more likely to face abuse from a partner or sexual violence.
You and I can go to the mall right now, airpods in, do our shopping and be in and out without anyone bothering us. Can go for a drink at the bar alone, get drunk without anybody bothering us, get in an Uber and get home safely without having to worry about our driver pulling some funny s***. We can be walking on the street and not have to look over our shoulder for suspicious guys following us
Try talking to women about their experiences, they have to be concerned and cautious about s*** that men don't even have to think about when it comes to safety in public. Have to message their home girls that they're safe after meeting a guy for a first date
And if you wanna talk stats, don't make me bring up the stats from my country. @Beach_kneega posted one instance earlier ITT from my city. You already took an L if you want to go there

my brother smells fine. the ammo is his
skin color fam lol
What do you think is/are the potential cause(s) behind the stat if someone tells you men have higher suicide rates than women?
the annihilation of fraternity in a gerontocratic and gynocentric world

Better is subjective.
Does he have not friends at this school currently?
Does he give off an aura or a vibe that comes standoffish to the black kids at the school?
Does he not have teachers he can bring this stuff up to?
Does him not seeing kids that look like him make things awkward?
Has it not occurred to anyone that middle school is just a bunch of jerks?
If there’s yes to any of these questions, he might fit in better at a school where more ppl look like him.

Ah I read back further. I get that too lol. I'm hispanic and I went to a majority black/hispanic minority middle school. I got flack for being too "white" in my taste for pop culture or other s*** lol. Black and hispanic kids roasted the f*** out of me, but it helped me grow to be more witty and deal with insults as I went into high school. Plus being a "nerd" was dealt with negative points much worse in 2008 vs 2026.

This. I was not fitting well or struggling socially in middle school because it wasn't me personality wise ( I wasn't jaded, I found friends). When I got to high school with a more diverse range of kids, I was able to catch up socially. Funny enough, Odd Future Talk and KTT helped me a lot with developing my personality.

he absolutely has friends at school hes very involved in sports and clubs so he socializes just fine within those clubs but he is extremely sensitive to the fact he’s like the one white kid in his entire school. he’s brought this up to me multiple times that he gets singled out a lot (not necessarily made fun of all the time, but he feels it)
i dont think hes standoffish but he is very quiet in class he says so people will throw “oh he look like a school shooter” s*** a lot especially when he was in his emo phase lol
and yes ive told middle school is just a s***ty time to be alive in but at the same time a lot of s*** that happens to you during that time period sticks with you
but then again this is just he tells me. could be embellishing but hes not really the type to make s*** up. lot of this is corroborated by his teachers too at least the quiet in class part and the “being the only white kid” thing

same lol i had the same experience growing up but i can admit i was much “cooler” than he is and didnt have nearly as rough a time at this point

Idk how anybody can see some of the degenerate men we're sharing this website with in the other thread and not understand that women have life harder
i think part of the problem is that people think that vulnerability is feminine and not just human
you're right but I think the way men are vulnerable alone or with others is different to how women might be and sometimes people dont recognize that, instead wanting men to emulate women.
side note but at catholic mass its not an uncommon sight to see men welling up

Church/places of worship really the only place in general it is seen as ok for men to publicly break down.
Interesting the western world

Because if i nitpick a stat that proves your point right enough just to shape it into my agenda, then it means women DONT have it harder lmfao
