I’ll retract my original statement. He may have engaged in election fraud. He resigned after the OAS (US influence btw) reported irregularities in the vote count. Lil fishy Also didn’t he supposedly use the highest court to circumvent term limits ? Im trying to understand how he managed to run 4 consecutive times when the term limit was 2.

yes, the supreme court exists to examine the legality of legislation, and it decided that term limits are undemocratic (which they are, inherently). Evo won the election so right-wingers like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio orchestrated his downfall.

Y'all are really arguing over the role of trade unions like 1988/89 didn't already happen, smh. trade unions, even large ones, can absolutely hold counter-revolutionary positions; look up "Solidarity" in Poland.

It would not be the first time that trade unions would be infiltrated by the US in order to undermine a leftist government, to put it lightly.

Yeah I guess . Just not sufficient evidence to convince me at this point. Now we’ll see if the National Assmbly sets up a transition government and calls for new elections

There won't be any elections with Evo, they know they'll lose, that's why they had the military get involved in the first place.

Iirc it was the coup in 1954 against Arbenz that helped radicalize Che, these types of things really expose bourgeois democracy for the sham that it really is.

Playing by the rules of liberal democracy will get you killed by the same people who claim to uphold those rules if you're not also playing by the rules of capital.

I think CNT is a great example of this, it has been one the biggest labor unions of the world, and it has never sold out it gets 0 money by the government and it has been promoting social movement since the 1910s, Spain has a problem with labor unions being a puppet of government and CNT it's the only big one that has still been independent . I think that nowadays with the state of most communist parties, the only way to do activism is trough labor unions even if they aren't communists
