Phil Lesh wrote this to his dad while he was on his death bed. One of the most beautiful songs ever penned.
My condolences OP. I understand what it’s like to watch your dad slowly fade away. This one brings me comfort. I hope you find peace brother

i lost my mom in december. thank you for this thread @op

Sorry bro I didn’t have a good relationship with my dad but I’d be devastated if my mom passed

The Sunset Tree is a whole album that builds up to this one. Less impactful by itself.

Love bro, hope you’ve been holding up
Lost my father in February, going through his vinyl collection and itunes library listening to all the songs he’d play in the car, while he was working in the yard, cooking, stuff he put on for family parties, makes it feel like hes not so far away
Sorry for your loss OP. Hope this song provides some comfort.
To me the message is that the love you share with someone is everlasting even after they're gone, it's the sound of the birds singing, it's the wind in the trees, it never dies

Man, it’s gon be years before I can ever listen to this song again (last time was after diagnosis) smh.
🥺🥺 You are stronger than you think OP just remember that
Condolences OP
Think a lot of songs I would post are already on here so here’s something a little different
