GNX also has songs that reflect on that like Man at the Garden, Heart 6 and Murals

GNX is him returning home and reg rounding himself and giving attention to just him and his people, which was one of the main answers given to him during his therapy and conflicts in MMBS in music videos but also songs and the skits

GNX is returning home to re-find, remind and recenter himself and his identity, culture n family

But the Pop Out did change some things, such as the titled track GNX being a last minute addition right before the album was turned in due to everyone around n had free time so Kendrick wanted to use that opportunity, and NLU beat was sitting in his drive from Mustard for many months until the beef with Mustard sending him beats for years

Some things got re-tooled a bit after the Pop Out too either in lyrics like Wacced Out Murals or in instrumental like Hey Now

Mustard said he sent the NLU beat in April 2024 and the song released in May 2024

Mustard in his interview with Big Boi and Hed back when GNX first released said he made the beat a long time ago and the beat was sitting with Kendrick for a few months part of a batch of beats - i have a thread on it from way back in Kendrick scn

Unless he's saying sumn different about it now or back then he was just general talking with the batch of beats

he’s saying something different now bro with the dust settled, I think he was misremembering in that interview cause it was during an exciting time for him. he said he texted Dot on some regular s*** NLU and TV Off and Dot specifically hearted NLU and said “this the one”

maybe he went through the text thread and realized NLU and TV Off were part of the of batch of beats he sent just later

I mean s***, that first GNX concert he did with the kids in Compton was some of the most ghetto s*** I ever seen an artist at his level do but it all seemed genuine and for the city haha
