Anybody on here ever read any of the Star Wars Legends books at all?
Been somewhat interested into finally diving into that world but unsure where to start and what is worth reading. I saw a trilogy box set that looked interesting apparently it’s a Thrawn series. The only book I own is a Darth Revan book but that’s it. Any info would be great thank you in advance.
I read the Thrawn trilogy back in highschool, pretty good
there’s a comic adaption done by marvel a few years back that was super solid too if you want a quicker read of the story
Beyond that, I never looked further. Have a lot of friends who swear by the legends books though, so there’s definitely stuff worth checking out
Wait I also read the Darth Plaguies book a few years back that s*** ruled lmao definitely check that one out
Thrawn trilogy is great, Darth Plaguies book is great, Darth Bane trilogy is pretty cool. There’s an X Wing series I’ve had recommended to me a few times that looked interesting but I’ve never read any of them myself.
Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover
Shatterpoint, a solo Mace Windu story by the same author.
Cloak of Deception, a great political thriller set right before Episode I

I read Traviss' 1st Republic Commandos novel (Hard Contact) and it was pretty fun. Gets a little away from the Jedi/force aspects of Star Wars which I'm thankful for, that has gotten kind of old. There are still Jedi/Sith characters but they're pretty secondary to the clones. I was also worried the clones would be boring one-dimensional characters, but they are pretty well differentiated and have fun (if predictable or stock) personalities

Sweet! That’s good to hear I scooped up the series with a gift card I had. It sounds super interesting for sure. Delta squad has always been badass to me so a series about commandos has me interested for sure.
i’ve always wanted to experience the star wars series in chronological order comics, books, movies, tv shows, etc
Target has a coupon that you get $10 off for spending $60 store wide and the Revenge of The Sith an anniversary book is $60. Coupon lasts till May 3rd.

Side note they also have a $15 off if you spend $100 so tack on more stuff to cross $100 and you get $25 off your order.
in terms of canon stuff i really like dark disciples and lords of the sith

i’ve read some of the new Thrawn book also, really good backstory so far, there are two Thrawn trilogies the classic one from the 90s and the new one made in the late 2010s which fits in the new Star Wars canon but they are both written by Timothy Zahn
he’s a great writer

Sweet well I’d love to know your thoughts when you finish if you read one or both trilogies.
Feel free to report back if you want to
