TFA is cool if you like the idea of 70s/80s SW. As a SW film tho, its by far the most creatively bankrupt in aesthetic, characters, ideas, and story. Only positive I can give is that it works as a film unlike JJ's other outing
How u feel about force healing
Lmao. Ya know, I dont even have a strong opinion on it. I checked out of the movie like 10 minutes in. Rey could have killed Leia halfway into the film for domestic abuse against Kylo, and I would have been like, "Sure. F*** this. Who gives a s*** anymore?"
ima just say this as long as jj stays far the f*** away from sw projects in the future im all good.
all of disney's star wars stuff besides JJ films have been at least somewhat creative. This nigga JJ couldn't go one scene in Ros without referencing some better movie

Had to throw the tv series in to try to balance it
I feel like you would have to include the tv series in the argument
It’s the prequels but better in every single way, aside from the memes
Just read the DOTF script. It definitely has its problems, especially after the first act but there's a lot in it that I prefer over what we eventually got. I appreciate that it feels like time has actually passed and things are actually different compared to the movie where time has passed but it's almost as if nothing has changed. I think the Rey/Poe romance is intriguing but I could definitely see Disney and/or KK in absolute shambles over Rey being, to some degree, romantically linked with all 3 main male characters throughout the trilogy.
Also couldn't help but notice this version of the script was completed just a week before Carrie's heart attack
I also rewatched TROS on Monday and honestly, while my overall opinion hasn't changed much... it's not that far away from being a good Star Wars movie. If the characters were as dynamic as they are in the DOTF script we're looking at a much better movie and if the runtime was a bit longer, allowing things to breathe (it's unforgivable that TROS is only 5 minutes longer than TFA and 15 minutes SHORTER than TLJ) I think it'd be legitimately good. (But far from great and still not at the quality of the other two in the trilogy)

Seeing this picture of a battlefront mod makes me sad that Finn didn't become a jedi
I'm telling you when it was apparent that Rey was the Jedi in TFA, I damn near wanted to walk out the theater. Felt like false advertising.

Yeah I'm really puzzled why they made TROS that short... I mean seeing the movie was a blast in terms of no filler, but as the final movie of the whole saga being 15 mins shorter than TLJ is criminal. I still enjoy the movie, but it could've been much more.

Carrie's death really f***ed Lucasfilm, DOTF needed a couple of revisits and more drafts but the elements were there
Better than the prequel series too
This is super facts. My favourite SW movie however is ROTS and I don't think sequel beats it, but the other two definitely. Sequel is a much better trilogy overall

I don't know how much of this is true but it seems like Disney wanted them to steer clear of a long movie. They wanted to maximize showings to make as much money as possible, and in all honesty if TROS was even 20 minutes longer, it's probable that it doesn't make a billion dollars which would've been reallllly embarrassing for them. (Although I guess you could make the argument that if the movie was better more people would've gone and seen it or gone to see it multiple times). And because of that, according to the editor, it made the editing process hell and they barely got it done in time. Apparently a lot was left on the cutting room floor.

Damn, that's disappointing. I get the fact that it's SW and it needs to hit a billion especially with the saga trilogy, but just fleshing out a couple of scenes would've made it so much better.
That Kylo opening scene was great but so short
that Oracle scene could've been a great addition too
Also they sent Terrio to the press to take the blame for the movie
JJ needs to explain what the f*** he wanted to do here, spoiler talk and everything.

It's insane. I was comparing it to TFA and TLJ.

At the cinema I was enthralled by the pace of TROS and didn't really notice how rushed the pacing was, but you can definitely notice it rewatching it at home
The ending scene in Exegol was surprisingly fine in terms of pacing, I actually really liked that

I respectfully disagree but i can’t be too mad at this ranking either

I would agree but the format of television is significantly different. Way harder to compare. Especially since not everyone has seen TCW series

Agreed DOTF even as a draft script >>>>>>>>> TROS
Just finished RoS. So we getting a story from the Black queen that Lando was talking to or no?
