Only thing really terrible about the prequels was the dialogue due to Lucas ineptitude as a script writer.

    Ambition vs execution

Lucas simply wasn't talented enough to write something that deep, but at least he didn't play it safe and tried to conform to society like tlj did.

he was really on the verge of something truly special. the ideas were the best imo if he just waited a couple more years to focus a bit more on the dialogue, and a director

the political aspect of the prequels was compelling, the brother vs brother fallout with Anakin/Obi Wan, relationship with padme couldve been better and a lot more people wouldve been attached to the story, world building and planets beat anything the OT or Sequels gave us

Will we ever get a battle close to the level of Anakin and Obi again?

I know it was the Jedi at theyre peak of existence

This trilogy brings nothing to the table

    No emotional attachment to characters

They should've expanded on Kylo with the mask and kanye vocoder type voice but they made em a p****

In terms of over the top choreography ? I doubt it but I personally think that’s a good thing, Obi vs Anakin looks kinda goofy

I think Maul vs Obi Wan is significantly better but with a more subdued action set piece so it doesn’t have the flare of the mustafar fight

    prequels are goat

new movies are too humorous in tone prequels had that serious tough guy tone the whole trilogy and it works with star wars

not really fair to say TLJ played it safe when the creative risks it took still have had people divided on the movie for 2 years now (I'll give you TFA) but I actually agree with you on the prequels

I think there were some really fascinating concepts and some really incredible world building, and they had a lot of potential to be the best SW material ever

Unfortunately, when it comes to execution, they kinda fail at every fundamental level of filmmaking for me, which is a shame because s*** like Clone Wars shows how interesting that era could be

It was cool because it was something you didn’t see before in Star Wars and it was the last of the Jedi at theyre peak . Two of the strongest Jedi, one turned sith against his master going at it . You got to see how restricted Vader really is and how vital his armor is to him after those injuries .

It was also suppose to be the last movie of the saga so I liked they went crazy with it. But yeah the maul fight is a perfect example of a perfect battle

it had those gag moments but more so after episode 1 watch episode 2 and 3 and both movies have basically no comic relief and almost takes itself too serious compared to the new movies and how many “goofy funny” moments they have

Yeah I hate to be that guy like it’s not I go in all biased and have some agenda filled checked of what I want from a Star Wars movie, I’m just gonna go see another movie at the end of the day really

So I tried to rewatch TLJ the other week you know with a new state of mind since I haven’t seen it since it dropped

And man right when it starts with the whole momma joke I’m like bruh what am I watching outtt

Throne scene and Mustafar fight both have “unnecessary choreography” though but okay

Mustafar still the better fight with the lava, better score, dialogue, and what was at stake

ehhh Episode 3 maybe maybe Episode 2 still has it's fair share of goofy moments

the new trilogy has about the same amount of humor as the originals

also the prequels have a lot of moments of unintentional comedy which to me is a lot goofier/harder to take seriously than a couple of intentional jokes here and there
