It's a s*** feeling when you know what could have been, and what we got for this trilogy. Still, counting the days till the new movie, I have no expectations.

They had a way better story sitting in their laps with Finn imo but for whatever reason, they choose not to do it. Would’ve been able to kill 2 birds with one stone introducing something new and interesting while also finishing the saga. I would’ve had Finn be the protagonist and Rey, secretly, the antagonist. Both would be Jedi and the story would play out relatively the same with a few exceptions. The biggest being that Rey would still leave Luke, and Finn, on that island in the 2nd film but she’d end up turning to the darkside and now Finn would be forced to fight her in the 3rd in order to save the galaxy. Kylo arc would still essentially be the same except the tension between him and Rey would be heightened now that she would essentially become Snokes new favorite apprentice. Some variation of that would’ve been way more engrossing imo.

I don't like, how Phasma looked great but they did nothing with her. Snoke was killed, and we didn't even know who he is. Bringing Palpatine back makes the original trilogy unimportant. Luke was a weirdo. Force awakens wasn't perfect, but set a good tone.

I would love to see a movie based on someone like Darth Nihilus, or Darth Revan, and the Jedis that existed in that time.

Palpatine is the only reason I’m invested in this final movie

I like the sequel trilogy thus far, but I might turn against it if kylo doesn't say at the end "I am a Jedi like my uncle before me and my grandfather before him"

I might demand a refund iff that common sense line isn't said.

Jokes aside there's so much of great material to venture off. They're rich in history & stories

Nah, Harry Potter spin offs proved how risky that is.

But they're were for the films specifically, Rowling's didn't go off of a source or anything whilst writing the screenplay

Star Wars' got plenty of material to work from to use as a blueprint, shouldn't be that hard to adapt tbh

Solo proved how marketable this franchise is without Skywalker's and the force.

Lol. The marketing and production was overall a mess to begin with, and SW fans weren't looking for a Solo film eitherway. It was a lose-lose situation all along

Yeah, however there's a clear fatigue of SW films right now. So I'm glad that they're giving this film franchise a rest before dipping their toes in it again. By next installments, hopefully they'll have learned from their past mistakes
