I'm conflicted now knowing this game is going to be filled with genAI and already has plenty of it in the trailer

    What makes you say this

I remembered that SHIFTUP's CEO is pretty pro-AI and said its practically essential to compete earlier this year
    gamesindustry.biz/shift-up-ceo-claims-ai-is-essential-for-smaller-nations-competing-with-the-developmental-manpower-of-china-and-the-us

Plus, some people have found examples that point to it being a part of the dev's workflow already. Taking a closer look at the poster I posted (and that's in OP now), you can see it's spliced together image generations which is a shame bc I liked it

not to mention the first game had some genAI in it as well

    It’s over

    It’s over

getting really hard to find a dev that's not injecting genAI into their development except maybe some indies

  • Didn’t mind Stellar Blade but this character design is genuinely cringe. Starting to wonder if the devs actually like the controversy.

I was reading that gen AI is much more accepted socially in the east and china, and that devs might not anticipate the backlash from the west when it’s used

I believe it. SQEX's CEO talked about loving genAI not too long ago and Sega's Crazy Taxi World Tour features prompted work too with the new Jet Set pretty much guaranteed to have it as well atp. Chinese dev Hotta Studio, maker of NTE (Neverness to Everness), uses it in their new gacha and I think fellow CZN dev Mihoyo has also been experimenting with the tech. I'm sure there are many more examples

Yes that’s true . Many are fine if it’s used on useless elements in the world . Others want everything to made by human hands . Never placeholder ai or even background art

This is likely multiplatform including Xbox.

Shift Up has confirmed it will self-publish Blood Rain, leaving Sony behind to go it alone. That decision has sparked questions about whether the sequel will launch on PC and Xbox Series X and S day one alongside the inevitable PS5 version. In an interview with IGN’s Simon Cardy hot on the heels of Blood Rain’s SGF reveal in Los Angeles, Shift Up CEO and director of Stellar Blade, Hyungtae Kim, said it’s too early to make a call on launch platforms, but did tease a multiplatform approach this time.

“We actually see the future of computers and the consoles with a lot of issues going on,” he said. “It's becoming more and more expensive, and it's hard for it to become more improved or developed. So we definitely want to make sure that the game can be enjoyed for those who have the current PC and current consoles.

Ps5 and pc aren’t confirmed they are assumed and they make logical sense but no platforms are announced yet
