also I don’t think this is spoiling anything but if you’ve seen it, the unknown actress playing the news anchor at the end gives a riveting performance lmao

War of the Worlds is such a good movie

It was good, I enjoyed it for what it was. But it really did feel like the more interesting movie would of started with the last 30 minutes and explore humanity's reaction to it all. The movie ended right when it got really good, and I can see why people weren't fwing that. The chase wasnt really all that compelling and made uo majority of the movie only for the climax to end aburtly

which in itself feels meta like spiel berg thinks as the audience aren’t ready for the truth so he instead gives us dumb action and nostalgia about ET and the naive hope humans would treat aliens well
