    That we know of

No, these things get announced publicly when the ball starts rolling towards principal photography

Clayface was announced and dated in December 2024

Man of Tomorrow was officially announced and dated in September 2025

There’s usually an 18-month to two-year window from the announcement to the release date

If there were any DCU movies releasing in 2027 after Man of Tomorrow, we’d know about them already

I get the MCU comparisons but it just doesn't fit in 2026. Iron Man and Hulk came out 1 month from each other in an era where the average fan had no clue what an MCU or shared universe was. These were standalone films that linked with post-credits scenes (also something fans didn't understand at the time)

This was when Marvel was a savvy indie studio working with separate distributors like Paramount and Universal to push these out. It wasn't until Disney bought out these contracts and pushed Avengers where the explosion happened.

This was lightening in a bottle with unique circumstances that won't happen again. 2026 has a different audience with different interests

    Not DCU

Is it not an elseworlds movie though? Still DC.

Gotta think about the landscape of things tho.

DCU right after the DCEU failure is in a difficult position compared to the MCU just starting. Batman v Superman bombing even tho it made money was the start of the end for the DCEU.

If something similar to that happens where a new batman or wonder woman bombs like that with the bad rep DC already has it...its over

    That’s fair

Like no one was like "oh wow Hulk didn't do so good so I guess Avengers is off the table"

No, Iron Man was still making Marvel the money it did so they had confidence to dial in on their slate. Iron Man was STILL IN THEATERS when Hulk released.

Average fan didn't even know some of this s*** was possible

edit: Iron Man was in theaters for 151 DAYS

Right. But they laid the foundation and groundwork for how to do it successfully. Yes it was a different time, but it still worked because they were very strategic with how they planned the order of their releases.

They didn’t take a real risky swing with a film until Guardians, which was 6 years into the universe after it was well-established and both loved by audiences & commercially successful

I see tweets like this and think what if the Batman part two ends up being bad? I don’t think it will, but this is just a hypothetical. Are these people going to have a mental breakdown?

    I will, yes

  • What is even the purpose of a shared universe at this point? Just make great movies. Obsession is killing the competition from a single idea.

The Sony films all had $100+ million budgets, were written to be campy 2000s type films, and were ugly af

The horror genre is pretty low risk, high reward because of their modest budgets and faithful core audience.
It’s dropping right before Halloween, looks creepy af, and it’s not super expensive.
I have high hopes Clayface will do pretty well

To fail on a $40 million budget with a brand name like that would be insane lol and the trailer actually looks good too

I literally had no idea hulk was gonna be connected to iron man when I watched it

Will still make them money hopefully since it’s an elseworlds project lol

I literally had no idea hulk was gonna be connected to iron man when I watched it

I remember distinctly with my fam in theaters during Cap and Thor being told by theater employees to wait to the end because there was a scene left lol. Only a few stayed at the door to watch

This was commonplace through the early 2010s

  • This s***s weird as f*** though lol

Edward norton bein an ass was a blessing in disguise because people forgot the Incredible Hulk exists

So much so that there are legit people who don’t think it’s part of the MCU

    Hmm reactions giving me 60-70%

Oof closer to 60, not surprised unfortunately, those initial reactions even the “glowing” ones seemed like they just liked it ok
