Donald woke up to a THIS IS SASHA FIERCE text
Malia Obama was in the writers room like "lets make a joke about vegetables and eating healthy again keep them on their toes "
Yo I’m still f***ing laughing at the “nigga… Twitter” scene
Jesus Christ that s*** was funny
I could always count on Atlanta to make me laugh uncontrollably atleast once per season
Very refreshing to have this happen again on a new show
Wanna kiss kiersey Clemons in the mouth
There is no way you are serious . Surrealism wasn't the problem with the execution of the plot
Don’t know what you’re talking about
what you think ?
Show could have done a whole lot more with its premise. I feel like the writing wasn't strong enough to inspire better performances from the actors and that led to an overall underwhelming show, especially when you consider how much better it could have been if it's execution was handled with more care.
Facts, should've been about Drake stans
Had to stop lurking and post on the alt
@ShintaroKago lol you going in in here. Kinda disagree with you about the mental health trope. Don't think they over did it
lol after that finale I am good .
you talking about finishing Atlanta?
because if you are please dont let this show put you off it the last season of atlanta is great

Don’t think they overdid it ? I mean I would say it was just right until unreliable narrator “ twist “ that was clear throughout show. Like ending just didn’t really land saying a whole lot of anything to me . That wasn’t made apparent for most of series . It was in many ways redundant but whole time I was marathoning I would think “ they about to take it another direction say something and land “ .
I mean I get some loving the reality documentary episode but viewing it as genius baffles me some cause he has done it before and other shows have as well. The unreliable narrator reveal or knowing she is seeing delusions is and was already apparent throughout all of series . Even if we are led to believe the she killed marissa theory or anything this show just feels missing something anything

Will give it a chance then

You said people don’t like surrealism when episode 6 took away from a lot of the surrealism with its execution. Yes I get why have an episode 6. But feel it over over explained

Main character acting wise did well with what they gave her and some sides
Part of what I got was that we prefer the surrealism too than the true crime story . We like the fiction where it looks like a meme more than the reality . Which would also obviously apply to a Dahmer like situation or any true crime marathon vs fiction tv show . People can marathon true crime shows all day and be looking for the “ why” as the detective said like what moment made her “ crazy “ . When in her case the fandom replaced her reality and her family . Some of which worked for me whether it was their intention or not . The levels the internet , tv and delusion augments reality or in her case her favorite artist made her feel empowered, special , acknowledged, loved where other characters shunned her or called her weird and didn’t value her
It again just felt like so more with it for me . Not a terrible anything though to be clear .
Was thinking when she met nija it was really her and the cop in a cop car

Yea def rewatching cause I forgot Marissa died in the first episode
what's the thread consensus
sadly, it's a miss for me
great cinematography and performance from Fishback and some of the special guests, but the storytelling was just too disjointed imo
by the third episode I thought the killing got repetitive. there was nothing at stake, Dre was gonna kill some innocent person and get away with it, and there was no conflict or real growth for the character
I liked episode 4 and thought we were about to see some growth or reflection from Dre cause of the therapy sessions but that quickly and predictably ended
then episode 6 went completely off the rails. did y'all like that? cause I had the same issue with it as I had with the Atlanta Goofy Movie episode that a lot of people loved. never wanna see a fake reality show forced into a season again. just a cheap storytelling trick to force exposition and character background into a show that lacked it. it wasn't the least bit funny, interesting or unique imo
finale was a let down too and too many unrealistic scenes
just a show that lacked stakes, growth, and tension. excessive violence and some surprise guest stars couldn't make up for it. Atlanta is one of my favorite shows but this is nowhere near it imo
tldr: 👎
Goofy Episode GOATED you trippin.
Agree with the killings getting repetitive and there being no real stakes. I still need to finish the show tho

Never came back to tlou thread but did the thread like the ending?

Overall ? Yes . Some show only felt it did a lot fast . No major grievances with finale itself . People were just a lil mixed on season overall or loved it with more potential for next
End the unreliable narrator pipeline its become a excuse for s***ty writing of a character with mental health issues for far far too long. Enough is enough. The fact that we have already seen it in two shows this year
and here comes Barry
I know people have their issues with Invisible Man but I was so glad it wasn't all in her head
I hated it in Joker lol

True lol it’s really so much it’s done in now always meant to be like “ what a twist “
This got to be the most agonizing writer trope of all time but especially when it comes to mental health .
Unreliable narrator secretly murders in their sleep is just so f\*\*\*ing tired.
Yeah it’s definitely a crutch that’s used to muddy the waters / hide things from the audience by just lying instead of sleight of hand/misdirection which I’m not a big fan of.

where for me in this case we kind of from beginning knew she was an unreliable narrator . She magically went from social outcast to serial killer . Like the whole show you give them suspension of disbelief so I’m confused on the reasoning
