Bro I’m not sure exactly what you think my stance is here but I can tell you for certain you’re arguing with yourself at this point.
Idc if they even decrease police presence EVERYWHERE else in the city. Not in the subway stations. If you deadass think having less police in the TRAIN STATIONS (DISCLAIMER: I AM ~ ONLY~ TALKING ABOUT TRAIN 🚂 STATIONS) then you’ve lost all sense of reality and I have an incredibly hard time believing you live here.
he's a twitter nigga lol it's better to just ignore the convo and move on
from the pic most of the victims look asian
F*** man, don't tell me this rn
I'm planning a trip with my gf next month, and we already had concerns over that s***.
Damn my friend was on the subway as this happened
Your friend okay??
And I'm telling you increased presence ONLY IN THE TRAIN STATIONS will not solve the problem of a crazy nigga opening fire on a train.
Out of all the guarantees that will do I promise the only one I'm certain is make life hell for turnstile jumpers.
Lmfao 2nd part of your post is all I needed to know. If you really don’t wanna pay that $2.75 so badly just say that from the jump. I agree it should be free too fwiw
I mean, I used to be over there a lot. Sunset Park is an Asian community.
doesn't mean its a good opportunity to be playing the oppression olympics fam when s*** like this happens.
Is the only reasonable way to commute in NYC by subway? Cause I wouldn’t wanna ride that s*** tbh
Haven’t used the subway in over 3 years. Haven’t used the bus even longer.
I live in Manhattan and have two cars. Doing great
Yea I hope not, saw someone else pointing that out. All this Asian hate attacks really boggling my mind but I understand it’s not something I can ever really “get”.
Hope the victims and their loved ones can heal.
To the nyc people in this thread does this change how u feel getting on the subway now? I know for a lot it’s just how u get around by necessity and that’s not about to change. I have some older folks who say next time they’re around that they’re taking the subway cus people doing too much. I do a mix of majority subway, the city bike walking, Uber and lastly bus but I can’t see myself just not taking the subway. It’s just how u get around (to me). What about y’all?
Doesn't change much for me, but i'm an asian male and always been scoping out worst case scenario before covid. My mom/sister and other asian female friends are more worried though

ask yourself this: what causes folks to commit tragedies like this? what factors make stuff like this happen?
Now ask yourself this: does increased police presence address ANY of those factors?

Been staying near the end where you can exit a cab anytime I take the train since those weeks where it was a trend of stabbings.
the problem is a very tight and close city opened up too fast with no real solution for any of the mentally affected people by this life-altering event that niggas dealt with for 2 years straight.

he aint gonna answer lol.
Also on the being from nyc thing
The biggest fear of any NYer is NY going back to the way it was in the 90s
A lot of people feel this is the most unsafe it’s been since then
They don’t care about what ever data you can show to increased police presence is bad, they saw what worked and they’ll accept it
he's a twitter nigga lol it's better to just ignore the convo and move on
nigga I dont know you lol.
he aint gonna answer lol.
if he even takes a few seconds to think it over I've done my job.
But with that being said, the fact people want less policing in NYC is absolutely insane to me. Yeah, the system is broken as f***. But clearly s*** ain’t the answer. Should have police presence in every station because there’s too many incidents taking place rn
The NYPD is already bigger than North Koreas army lol. If these dumbass pigs can’t figure s*** out with the resources they have it’s clear that they’re not the people we should be relying on to fix things
