yea cause it's amazing, i keep playing it over and over again
I promise the rest of the album is worth it, keep going!
I love this album..... and possibly more than I loved their last one. I wanna say the track sequencing is all over the place but the songs are so varying I don't know if theirs really a different order all 22 of these would've made more sense. I do really like the second half more than the first as well.
favorites after two listens: yeah I know, nothing revealed/everything denied, jesus christ 2005, and shiny collarbone
only songs I feel like I don't care for are don't worry and having no head because it reminds me way too much of one of the ILWYS instrumentals. Also streaming is so pointless right after the end (music for films)

Yes!!!! I’m glad you like it. I’m in love too. ABIIOR is my least favorite from the band but this album is really good.
Only songs I dislike are: The 1975, Then Because She Goes, Bagsy Not In Net, and Nothing Revealed (I like the Everything Denied part, however.)
Saw this on Reddit and thought it was interesting.
“If you could compile tracks from NOTES and ABIIOR into a mega album (Music For Cars), what would your tracklist look like?”
This is what I quickly whipped up in less than 5 minutes. Songs are for sure the songs I would pick (Don’t know what I’d get rid of if I could only choose 22) but order was loosely thrown together.
1. The 1975 (ABIIOR)
2. People
3. Give Yourself a Try
4. Me and You Together Song
5. Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy)
6. Shiny Collarbone
7. Frail State of Mind
8. It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)
9. If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)
10. What Should I Say
11. Playing On My Mind
12. Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America
13. I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)
14. Inside Your Mind
15. Roadkill
16. Yeah I Know
17. Playing On My Mind
18. Having No Head
19. TooTimeTooTimeTooTime
20. Sincerity is Scary
21. I Think There’s Something You Should Know
22. How to Draw/Petrichor
23. The Birthday Party
24. Be My Mistake
25. Don’t Worry
26. Guys
I was just thinking about how wild this would be as a two disc project disc one is brief inquiry and disc 2 notes. I'll prob make some playlist over the weekend of all my favorites
I feel like ILIWYS has more highs but this legit might be more consistent than that album. Might end up my 2nd favorite after The 1975.
Imagine risking getting in trouble for an album TBA shows up early on an official streaming service the next morning
Leaker didn’t even need to leak the album last night, look at this:

Ah, I looked at that image wrong, thanks
That’s legit!
I’ve seen them twice and I really want to see them again. Corona needs to go away
seen some of their best shows and rareities in my time, hope you get to see them again!

There’s about 4 songs I would personally skip but that’s not bad for a 20 song project, I like the list! Sad to see no Give Yoirself a Try though, that’s my favorite from ABIIOR.

I'm more keen on their production work, can you tell

so jealous! I became a fan at the beginning of the brief inquiry rollout and have only gotten to see them in big venues, wish I coulda seen them at one of those small shows they did right after the last one came out or just way back when all their shows were in smaller venues haha.

I can tell. I definitely prefer the rock and pop sides of The 1975 but their production work can be good too. Just some of those songs that fit in that category are a miss for me.

At least you put MAYTS on their. Certified bop. Might be their best song since ILIWYS

I think their best run was they first started doing arenas personally, around end of 2016 i think(?) They dug out some classics from the EPs like Anobrain, Undo etc.. Just when Matty was announcing the soon start of the MFC era. Or maybe if you're a fan of the older stuff more so than the newer stuff (Not like I dislike the new stuff at all, I mostly love it) the Love Me tour end of 2015, getting to hear unreleased ILIWYS stuff and deep cuts from s/t was a bless

That song is fantastic, but was a grower for me. It reeked of early-mid 2000s Busted esque pop-rock, but then I realised thats why I love it
So what songs is everyone liking if they've listened to the leak so far?
favorites after two listens: yeah I know, nothing revealed/everything denied, jesus christ 2005, and shiny collarbone
others I really like are then because she goes, roadkill and playing on my mind

Then Because She Goes works quite well as a shoegaze track. Few of the garage beats sound great.
