What is a 'Dynamism Shooter'?

Dynamism Shooter is a term coined by Embark Studios for THE FINALS, their first video-game release. It is broken down into three components:

• Environmental Dynamism means the in-game environment is designed to be destructible, and thus deeply affecting how a match plays out.
• Playstyle Dynamism is about building your character in a flexible way by choosing the weapon, gadgets and specialization (another word for 'abilities') to your liking, highlighting the individuality of a playstyle.
• Game Mode Dynamism refers to the game’s unique 'Cashout' game mode, which allows for the dynamism of the destructible environment to happen while players put their individual playstyle to the test.

The new season is dropping on December 10th so I thought this game deserved a proper thread
Especially with many folks having experienced Embark’s quality of gaming craftsmanship via ARC Raiders

haven’t played this in several months but it was the closest game I found on console to capturing that tf2 feeling, overwatch never did it for me

Played this on my potato a long time ago, and still had fun. Wish it was more popular and that I was better at it than I am.

Though I have seen some Titanfall/Apex players checking out The Finals because they’re both movement-based.

Going on a tangent little, the destruction is definitely one of the game’s biggest selling points, and I wish the marketing would at least try to capture the mainstream audience (again).
In the Battlefield 6 reveal video, one of their guys literally was saying “destruction, something Battlefield does unlike anyone else” lmao really?

Yeah this destruction is better than any battlefield game I've played, easily. Pretty sure it was made by ex devs.

This was fun but it'll be hard to wrangle a team together with adult life and such.

What’s even crazier is that this season and the next one, they keep on enhancing the destruction

And for the next season, they’ve made it so that destroyed buildings provide clearer paths inside despite being deformed and whatnot (I guess it’s to reduce the jankiness that comes with destruction).

Btw I play this game solo with randoms all the time (with no voice chat at that) and I’d say my win rate is about 50/50. I play casual only cus I try not to deal with sweats as much as possible (especially PC players).

So all I’m saying is you don’t necessarily need to be in a party to be able to win

Honestly I think going forward, imma have to spend less time on this game (life getting in the way PLUS having to juggle time with ARC now).

If they would just implement map voting (so I can friggin’ play on the new map) then I might reconsider.

In my mind it's the greatest multiplayer shooter I've played. They've really nailed the dynamism they talk about, and so many weird quasi-game breaking abilities that make it so fun (data reshaped, gravity cube, wall hacker thing) but everything has a counter. It blows my mind how well designed it all is. I've got 400+ hours since release and I have not yet been bored by it

Ive gotten more into it this weekend via Arc Raiders and it's what I've wanted out of a shooter destructible environments since like Battlefield 4

The new Point Break game mode goes crazy. 8v8 with the destruction is madness and the frantic attempts to revive everyone on your team to push for a single point is peak gaming

I only played it once (when the new season dropped), but I enjoyed it
I just didn’t completely understand how the respawn credits worked in that mode, and ultimately that led to us losing cus we were out of those
