BC Jean caught lightning in a bottle with this one but pretty genius of Mathew Knowles to see it as an R&B song

The Dream is a R&B genius and it sounds similar to Falsetto

Here The Dream definitely caught a vibe. He knew he had a hit when he sung it.

Ne-Yo as well. The melody, chorus and bridge were platinum before Beyonce laid her vocals and she still finessed co-writing credit

Johnta Austin is underrated as well. Can't Help But Wait and With You are 2000s staples

Not really a demo but Future basically created the melody and vibe of the song.
"This a picture, what a picture
I'm f***in' with you, tell that nigga he ain't with you
I'm so h****, I'm so h****
Whatever I gotta do to tell you good mornin'"
That's the entire basis for for Drunk In Love

What other demo are peak?
Mimi makes me believe in god. insane talent!
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRvDkTnnWREMimi is sooo underrated as songwriter tbh. I'm glad that NYT gave gave her her flowers
This has to be pre-House of Balloons
It also is a show of terminal case of CTE, cuz ok, allegedly he/his team lost, deleted the file by mistake. But how the fuuuuccckkkkckckcck he still hasn't re-recorded it, it would sound so good, regular and casual fans will like it, it will do numbers so the label and his bank account will like it, win-win-win for all 😭💔
😭😭😭💔💔💔

(i used to think he said follow the sound like Nardwuar lol. which still kinda works)
@op Future didn't write Good Morning, DetaiL (the producer) did. both GM and Drunk In Love are based on an unreleased demo by DetaiL he gave to both Future & Beyoncé. you can still hear DetaiL’s vocals in the background of GM too. but at least you got it right that GM came first, most people on social media post his Drunk in Love remix saying it was the original.

You reckon Detail gave Future the melody? I know he did the beat. Imo I think Detail finessed Future and gave the song to Beyonce, I'm sure Future had no idea that he was writing for Bey

yea probably
DetaiL & Future were working together a lot leading up to Honest, i think because both were part of Birdman’s Rich Gang collective back then (pre-Thug & RHQ)
i assume the common lines between GM & Drunk In Love were written by DetaiL too

i'd agree but the look of the song was Future's vision no doubt.
also i forget if this was confirmed or a rumor but i think Drunk In Love was Drunken Love until Beyoncé got it

yea i think DetaiL had a demo that Future tweaked into GM & Beyoncé (or another writer) tweaked into Drunk In Love, but there’s still plenty of overlap bc they came from the same demo

Ok
Mimi is sooo underrated as songwriter tbh. I'm glad that NYT gave gave her her flowers
18 of her 19 Billboard number-one singles (second only behind The Beatles) were written by her with the exception being the cover of Jackson 5's "I'll Be There."
I think people are so overwhelmed and impressed by her vocal ability that it outshines her brilliant writing talent and also she has co-produced many of her songs too.
I'll always respect when someone brings up her talent as a songwriter
