Since the end of the Rory & Mal Era they were already leaning more and more towards gossip/relationship topics over music and after they left it got worse its hardly a podcast centered around music anymore

Takotchii agree that people have a tendency to messiahfy kendrick unnecessarily because he's a consistent artist and i personally think kendrick is a legend we're seeing in the flesh
the underlying factor is that kendrick hasnt dropped anything people consider is a bad project yet
i feel like this kind of reaction though from people like ish who think others do nothing but circlejerk kendrick is unwarranted and would make more sense if he did release what people would by majority find pretty bad

It implies his followers, on this website and everywhere else, will love whatever he drops. His biggest fans think every project of his is a classic and legendary so why would I believe they’d view this one any different?
Anyone whose listened to a lot of great hip hop who says Kendrick isn’t wordy I’m going to look at very funny.
I like “ransom” a lot, damn near 15 years after it dropped, but that doesn’t mean saying the alphabet on the song is a good lyric. (side bar the alphabet is something everyone knows so it does provide a sing along element. )

It was never just about music but the earlier days were definitely more music focused, now they talk about a new album for like 5 minutes then move to gossip for half an hour lol

I love kendrick but that nigga was not riding that beat at all. I feel like it was intentional but I didn't like that "flow" at all. Nice message but as a song it's the worst of the Heart series.

What I agree with Ish on is the timing of that first verse. It's been pissing me off because I can't quite tell, but there's something off. The end of the verse/when the drums come in don't match up, it's hard to explain and I haven't bothered to bring it up cause I know niggas will react lol
Idk I agree with Joe that Heart 1-4 ain't even in the same league but I feel Ice on his reasoning why he thinks it should be titled something else.
I'm just glad they actually spoke on this s*** lol hope it stays like that next week
