I don’t care about what Naughty Dog decreed lol — if you’re posting something that hasn’t been shown in a trailer, then put f***ing spoiler tags on it.
I now know not only will we kill a dog (which we all know), but a whole another scene with the same dog.
Which means that it’ll be obvious which dog it is lmao since it’s clearly someone we bond with.
It’s just annoying, I don’t care how small or inconsequential it is.
If it’s a spoiler, it’s a spoiler. Mark it as such.
you would've assumed it's every dog you came across regardless
you buggin over something really tiny honestly

Two more hours of the game leaked, watch out for spoilers kings.

I deleted it
I don’t understand the thinking that it’s somehow bad if characters you play as can’t do bad/difficult things despite the player not agreeing with it or not wanting to do it when it comes to linear games telling a very specific story. They’re not RPGS, these games don’t need to give you a “choice”
Despite the interactivity factor the story is ultimately about the characters, not the player, and I think it’s a bit self centered to assume that doing bad things is meant to be a reflection of the player rather than the character (possible commentaries on game design/game violence aside) or that the player is entitled to any sort of agency in a linear story based game in the first place. Not saying that moments like this can’t come across ass too much or too on the nose, but complaining about being “forced to do it” never made sense to me
it’s like saying “Apocalypse Now manipulates the viewer into feeling bad by forcing the viewer to watch characters doing bad things without having any control over them”

Fr???
Yup, not watching it, but I’m aware of it. The same nerds who were mad over it are mad at this too. They’re so far up their own asses that they can’t accept it for what it is, a game. If I play it and it’s indeed trash then I’ll get over it because at the end of the day it’s just media.

Some of the YouTube video comments is a f***ing mess too man. Everyone circle jerking together in the comments hating this game to try and validate their opinions when it the leaks first came out.
I'm with you that once I play it and if its trash then it is what it is, but I'll be happy with it that I least played the whole thing to provide some constructive criticism about it instead of judging some leaked footage.

I mean it could just not be enjoyable for someone. Like watching funny games or irreversible, sometimes things can be unnecessarily punishing maybe for a point, maybe not, a reviewer is entitled to their experience and should express their honest feelings. Little rumblings of dissent are healthy for critique and this game is almost universally lauded. I’m interested in seeing for myself.

Oh yeah I’m definitely not arguing that, it’s perfectly understandable to just feel turned off by the oppressive tone and it’s always good to hear different opinions.
What I don’t agree with is the idea that its about the player rather than the characters and this idea of approaching every game as a “player as character” experience and the assumption that extremely story heavy games like this should somehow prioritize player choice over character choice, it just seems like a reductive and limiting way to approach these kind of games to me

I see, I terms of that idk. I’d have to think about how I approach gaming and what I enjoy about gamin a lil more to explore your point. Again I think this game prolly will be an interesting test case.

Could you pm me that link if you have it?
Look man
If you are a reviewer reviewing a game early before release date to compete with other reviewers, there's a line where you can't bash the game because this will ruin your partnership and chance to review the game early like everyone else.
If you need to make money, you'll do what you can to keep it alive and will be lenient in this business. Plus, this is ND, a big boy who's papa is Sony, who can outright make it hard to have connections with other companies from their influence. You think twice before you give it less than a 7.
These reviews can actually be legit, or it can be bs, I don't know. I like to read the more critical reviews and see why they dislike something and read positive reviews in case they touched on this subject. Gives me a better sense of what's happening for a game coming next week.
But call me a p**** bro, that will make you more legit in everybody's eye.
isn’t the most negative review of this game by IGN Japan?

I just can’t understand how grown adults can get so flustered over stupid s*** like this. It’s a video game, these losers sent death threats to ND employees and harassed them to the point where they had to blackout their social media…all because they don’t like how a video game went. Like Jesus Christ, y’all don’t have anything else to worry for?
