i'm not mad at the idea of joel dying but i would have done it differently for sure

i'd also be lying if i said i don't wish ellie and joel got to go head to head with the wolves and seraphites

i know the point of the story is dealing with loss and revenge etc.

but i think they could have explored joel's lie and their relationship even more before his death

their chemistry will be missed

here are my general thoughts though:

the last of us part II is the best game i have ever played, but i am left hurting after playing it

not in a "wow, this is so uncomfortable but i love it — joaquin phoenix as joker" kind of way

but more of a...

"they made decisions with some of the characters and the structuring of the story that i don't agree with... it would be perfect if they did it THIS way instead" kind of thing

with that said, i believe this series as a whole has elevated what's possible in creating a storytelling experience that cannot be duplicated in any other medium

video games have the potential to be the greatest way to consume art and the last of us part I and II prove it
