that game would definetly flop

Tbh I was starting to like Abby NGL, but I hated that they made me controller her during that Ellie fight in the theater. Like it was brutal beating up Ellie.

So the lie at the end of the first game really had no consequence between Joel and Ellie's relationship, in the flashback it seems like she wanted to cut ties with him but she clearly was good with him at the start of the game... Like someone said the biggest story beat of the first game for ND was the death of the unnamed surgeon... So much missed potential here smh

Are you talking about the flashback with the Guitar? Thats way before she finds out about the lie. She barely talks to Joel and her last words to him the night before he died wasn't pleasant either.

Nah the flashback where she goes back to the hospital and forced Joel to tell the truth

You give these niggas valid reasons why the writing can be considered bad and all they can say is

I don't think Joel dying is the problem but it's how he dies and the fact it happens so early on that is the problem, I've got a few ideas on how he could have been used better in this game, I still need to finish the game tho tbf just made it to the part where it switches to Abby

I think the main problem is ND expecting anyone to care about Abby

Just finished the game and I loved it.

Basically my thoughts

The amount of accuracy and detail in the museum is WILD like they really made me reminisce being in one with my fam

i really respect the decision to kill joel so early and in such a brutal way, it’s rare a aaa studio would do something so daring. honestly reminds me of mgs2, gamers just want to be pleased tho

ellie deciding not to kill abby is reminiscent of raiden throwing away the dog tags with the players name on them too, it’s a character deciding for themselves against the will of the player, breaking a cycle.

I am not a fan of the direction the story went in the last of us 2 but this is not an accurate comparison

I feel all of the negative reaction to this game is whiplash from how overrated part 1 was

Part 1 had a basic story and gameplay but incredible graphics, mocap acting and presentation

Part 2 again has a basic story and gameplay, incredible graphics mocap acting and presentation

You are getting the same exact product, that is the true reason for all of the negativity

You can argue part 1 has a basic story, but in no way is it bad. Part 2 story is straight up trash

the whole point of the game is too slowly understand her POV and realize that it's not always so simple as heroes and vallians and it's a complex world. Most of the people complaining haven't beaten the game or were spoiled and ruined the twists for themselves
