Precisely. It’d be ideal to have a decentralized digital currency that is easily accessible but it’s massively inefficient, hard for a layman to use, and risky to use as currency.

How is it inefficient in a way that can’t be rectified later?

The energy consumption for it to be able to function the way it does (unique hash coding that requires data mining) is absolutely absurd and unless a different currency can pop up that efficiently has an algorithm that allows it to remain decentralized, I don’t think CC is something for the near future

the culture around crypto is also suspiciously ignorant

Crypto just seems like money laundering for the rich. No poor or even lower middle class ppl I know are talking about it. I feel like when the super rich move on to the next tax free way to store their wealth, people will realize how overrated crypto was to begin with.
