_jesseDidn’t checkout the visuals yet but this album def grew on me. 🙄
Initial response was based on its departure from Abel’s previous sound but after repeat listens I can enjoy it for what it is
A high production value 80s synth album with weeknd stylings that makes for a very enjoyable listen as long as you go into it w/o the preconceptions of it being a dark and brooding Weeknd Album a la kissland, trilogy, mdm.
Hell yeah, I think that’s how a lot of people felt about it on first listen. I saw a lot of things like “This is least Weeknd sounding album yet” so I think him going full balls to the wall synthpop caught people off guard. But yeah, taking it for what it is it’s a real solid album. The visuals are just the cherry on top
