As someone hasn’t played the games or read the books, I’ve enjoyed this show. Latest season has been pretty good as well
Don’t think there has been a better action oriented show in the last 5 years as consistent as The Witcher’s action set pieces have been.
The slander this show gets isn’t deserved. There is a lot to appreciate about this show, from the set designs, to the makeup and clothing, to how serious they take their action set pieces, and fight choreography etc. Great cinematography as well.

The slander is only undeserved if one has zero connection to the source material or the games. But looking at the show purely on its own, it does have some good action pieces.

I think people need to learn to view things that are adapted through different mediums as different from what they originally consumed it as, myself included. But I am also of the mind that source material should be respected. Fine line to walk. Reading some of the stuff being the scenes, I can understand if the treatment of the author of the books, turned people off from the show.
The show from what I’ve read definitely strays from the books n games a lot. Tonally in some cases, and thematically in the worst cases that I’ve read. I think they’re different enough that you can appreciate both iterations of the character(s) for different reasons. I’ve been learning to view these sorts of things as “Elseworlds” essentially. It’s the only way I can stomach shows like 3 Body Problem compared to the novel.
