This will be norm. It's already here.

The caveat is that you still need the discernment to be a good decision maker.

It's sort of like using a beatstarter loop to get a beat going. Sometimes you need somewhere to start so you can eventually bring it to a place that's true to your DNA and vision. When it comes to screenwriting, people will advise you to do a vomit draft, just so you get something down and can start connecting things. This works in a similar way.

The true work of an artist comes in deciding what to keep, what to discard, what to change. If you have a low critical threshold, you're going to be amazed by the first generic pathways AI throws your way. But, it is possible to start in a place of banality and move it to a place of originality, piece by piece. That's the human. That's the artist.

You can use AI like the "Ship of Theseus" thought experiment.

    I get it.

Nobody wants to have a nuanced discussion about AI because it's such an easy topic to throw performative swings at.

But, it's the new Google. It's not going away.

Nothing better than coming up with ideas though, it’s like one of the best parts of creating.

I don't disagree with the title but the OP seems to be giving AI too much responsibility as a collaborator

AI is useful for starting essays or whatever but man I do not want to be in a position to give Chatsworth GPT a writing credit on my album

Depends on how you use it i dont see an issue but there are people that cannot think for themselves and will rely on AI to just give them ideas instead of using it as a tool for enhancement

science and coding are like the two only things that could possibly be a net positive for society with this tech. everything else is made to isolate and numb people.

I asked Chat GPT to give me a long list of random, obscure word combinations. One of the combos it gave me was "alabaster scream". I made a poem out of it. Here it is:

    Alabaster Scream

    An alabaster scream
    comes white-hot and stolid

And we've been trying to sculpt it
    into a beautiful woman

Do you think it's fair to discount my poem based on the fact that AI was used to create the title?

Yeah, you should be thinking critically about everything AI suggests for you.

That's the only way it's going to work. Most people don't have the critical mindset to be able to use it well.

What happens when a child comes up to you and says they also love poetry and have been studying poetry and your poem and the title just speaks to them

You won’t feel some type of way telling them you got it from AI? The struggle of coming up with the idea is what makes them beautiful

If you forgot what format a specific poem should be in and want to ask some AI algorithm idgaf but to get the entire idea from them is so lazy
