This year started off pretty slow with a few good things at the beginning of the year, and mid summer really picking up. Still a lot to look forward to for the rest of the year too.

Honestly I think it’s been a pretty good year as a whole so far.

Skrillex might be my favorite surprise of the year really. He brought back the mixtape vibes and I really appreciate that.

Hayley might be my overall favorite, but Clipse, MIKE JID, Mac Miller are all making a case for me too.

That’s fair! I think in terms of rap it’s been a hit or miss year. But the hits have been strong for me

not hard to feel the effects of record labels and mainstream america forcing rap out of the spotlight but there’s been some great stuff this year regardless

Of course Clipse is a highlight, but a lot of great stuff apart from that as well. Alfredo 2 is amazing, Don't Tap The Glass is pretty cool, Metro Boomin came through with some serious vibes on Futuristic Summa, $uicideboy$ delivered another dope album (and Scrim dropped a great solo earlier this year), araabMuzik's Electronic Dream 2 is insane, Juicy J dropped a nice album and that's just the stuff that dropped recently, got a lot of that in rotation rn. Also there's stuff like Psychological Musical Warfare 2 by Varg2 and DJ Smokey, that Skrillex tape as well is super cool. I still need to catch up on some albums people mention ITT like Kush & OJ 2, Raekwon's album etc. Overall it's honestly one of the stronger years music wise lately for me.

It’s been pretty good but I feel like the overall fatigue from the ongoing conversations centered around last year is really setting in. I think a lot of folks want to move on but it’s still making headlines and it’s diluting all the other cool things that have happened this year

been pretty mid for me so far. lot of good songs but as far as albums go everything been meh.
